What really matters is...
What does DALPA say? "Thank you sir, may I have another!" |
There are a lot of airplanes out there... but this is by far my favorite.
Oh, and I've got an airtran ad showing now. Didn't some airline buy them and pay us to take their airplanes? :D |
Only US airline is Delta at number 9.............not to bad.....

Does our PWA protect us from the VAtl thing becoming an alter-ego - cheap foreign pilots doing the rest of the trans-Atlantic flying for us (what little we have left after AF/KLM)?
I was just thinking if I were an airline executive with a lot of retirements coming up, not wanting to waste money on pilots, and foreign ownership restrictions, that buying a 49% stake is a great way to continue to avoid hiring. Not that it's the only motivation... |

While it appears they missed the mark big time on the refinery, its hard to argue with anything they said in the other one about VA.
I'm looking hard to see a net upside (for DL pilots) but I'm not able to balance the ledger on that yet. Especially when we could end up blowing the better part of a billion dollars to lock in a massive share of more foreign pilot lift, most of which to cities we already fly to. Look at it this way: It may not give the DAL pilots a ton of WB jobs, but what it may do is stop Turkish and Emirates from gaining a base(s) of operations which is a lot easier to get to then DXB. Think of the mess and job loss we and other US pilot groups may see if EK would be successful in gaining more LHR slots or buying a carrier like V Atlantic. It would all a lot of one stop connections for most of Europe out of LHR from point in Europe, the ME, Africa and SE Asia, not to mention what it does to the UK-US market. The deal may not be good up front for DAL pilots, and the true gain may never be known, but it may stop a situation where we see a frontal assault on the US airline industry from a point of operations a mere four and a half house away. (it would be way too close to home) |

Yes, you get PS to/from CQ training, you can book it yourself on Travel Net under Company Business. When you arrive in ATL, there is no dedicated "Training Center Van" from the airport, you just jump on one of the Virginia Av. hotel vans, they say; Red Roof, Motel 6, Comfort Inn, Double Tree, etc. on the side, and ask him to please drop you at the Delta training center, at the corner, just flash him a $5, works every time.
Starting in Jan, even ATL based pilots will get a company provided hotel room for CQ (recurrent) training, in ATL, but you have to call them and tell them you want the room. I'm going to ask for a room. My plan is to sublet it to the hookers on Virginia Avenue by the hour. |
Sweet! More CRJ 900s a coming. Merry xmas Delta pilots:(
