Yeah I hope Boeing retools the 757 line too but neither is going to happen, we are going to start losing 75's.
Several things about this stink to high heaven. I am getting pinged that D-ALPA had nothing to do with this. If true, are we then going to allow other MEC's to start cutting deals with Delta management for pilot employment? Then why not their own scope deals?
If President Moak signs an agreement which allows a regional airline MEC to bind Delta it will signal the end of the exclusive representational arrangement between Delta and the Delta MEC.

IOW, the ultimate whipsaw.
I am 100 % against flow through agreements; I think they are a carrot that management uses to drive down pilot wages. However, I would be in favor of guaranteed interview, only because I don’t want to wait ten years to flow, I would rather take my chances now rather than wait around. I am just over 31 years old and was hired at Pinnacle when I was 24, my career clock is ticking. I have over 8000 hours, a college degree, a line check airman and a clean record. I NEED to get out of this place ASAP, or change careers; I cannot wait around for a flow. It’s mostly my fault that I am still here, I have not applied anywhere else besides Northwest Airlines and Delta, I always said I would never commute out of MSP for a airline job, but now I see that is just a pipe dream.
I like this guy!
FWIW, I wrote two letters for pilots to be hired at DAL - Both are Pinnacle LCAs. Both are great guys that like fishing as much as me. DAL would be fortunate to have them on the list. Both have the same sentiment as this guy. Neither live in MSP.
PNCL has some great folks. Let's not forget that. However, a PNCL flow is bad business.

I emailed crew resources and they said that it is closing on the next bid. Also said we are quite a bit overstaffed on ATL 7ER, so a lot of those guys won't be going to ER or if they do there will be a lot of displacements off of the ER. Basically means more backwards movement for a lot of FO's in ATL.
Using the December* seniority list online at Delta net and merging the 7ERB and 767B together and only keeping the most senior 539 pilots (current ER list), you'd find that the new most junior ATL 7ER B pilot in ATL would be a 1/27/2000 hire.
Obviously, there is an issue there.
*First, there are about 20 or so 767B pilots fewer in January 2013 category list as the seniority list for December, so the 1/27/2000 hire might be a few off.
Second, 7ER and 767 pilots have both been flying 757s and 767s out of Atlanta. There is currently enough flying to have both categories even though we are losing some 757s to the scrap yard. But just because we get rid of a category that doesn't mean we got rid of the flying, someone's got to fly the 756 domestically out of ATL and by golly, it ain't Alaska. We protect our 756 flying around here... 738, not so much because it isn't as cool as the 756.
So would I be wrong to assume the 7ER will grow larger but maybe not a 1:1? We're supposed to fatten the ER for a few months until May (fatten = 7 people). Then by May there are 85 pilots left on the 7ER, of which, 61 or so are senior to the 7ER plug.
Maybe call me crazy, but I think between the diehard anti-international guys that may reside on the 767, you may get just enough people to move over to the growing 737 category to mitigate ER MDs. Crazy? I mean if the company sees it's going to MD a few ER pilots who they know will bid back in asap, why spend the money on the MD?
As for the A stuff, let me go see.
BTW, maybe I'm wrong on this but the 9 to 717 isn't a 5 day course?

Sending money to ALPA national to subsidize DCI pilot groups who are trying to undercut us is an asinine proposition.
If hired at DAL, it may be years before you can hold MSP. I believe 2008 hires and above can hold at this point (there "might be " 1 or 2 from 2010). Besides, you're only 31. I think the average age in 2010 was around 35-36. Give it a few more years and you'll be right in the sweet spot.
famine, famine, famine, FEAST, famine, famine, FEAST, famine, FEAST.
Eventually, the feasts will be more frequent unless we go to 9000 pilots.

atl dc9 closes on next ae, atl 717 opens 100 crews and dtw 73 opens with 20 crews, correct?
