Salute to the team that thought up a Harley powered Prius for Lemons racing.
Shame that we can't find a handful of Delta pilots that are willing to get a little grease under their fingernails, this stuff looks like a hoot. (Of course in the Southeast were are going to be completely dominated by the pro Nascar teams with fab shops who do this stuff as, well, it is a joke)
Still think the "One Great Airline" Craptation (made from the merger of the two least functional cars in GM's production history ... the Pontiac Phoenix and Chevrolet Citation ... holds promise. I know where there is a rusty X-11 model in Pickens County out beside a shed)
And if some lacy panty waist thinks this could be unbecoming the brand, we could always theme it for US Air / America West, or really stir the pot with an Eastern Airlines car repainted with Continental logos.... there are plenty of airline mergers which deserve lambasting while getting tetanus from rusty crap cars.
Figure we could also strategically lose luggage in the path of competitors who wanted to pass us. (we'd surely get passed a lot and have little hope a checkered flag .... so we could call a black flag a "win" and start drinking early)

Am I the only one who thinks everything about reserve has actually gotten worse except the pay improvement and occasional extra day off? My quality of life this past year on reserve has been my worst at the company yet.

I would disagree, but I'm senior on reserve in a fat category. I would agree that it looks like junior reserve guys are flying more often than before. That will even out when we're not so overstaffed (or get into summer flying). Then the seniority on reserve will just allow the senior to decide "which" trips they prefer to fly instead of "nah, I'd rather not go fly."

The SC assignments are insane also. It makes commuting to reserve impossible for me. I'm anxious for the next AE to come out and hopefully be based at home again.

From my perspective, Reserve is much improved, because I can hold week-ends off, and guys are stepping on each other to WS during the week. And using every trick available to get past max pick-up, which is not much of a trick at all.
So from the perspective of the group... not so great.
We've turned ourselves into a bunch of hoares, and there are plenty of tricks to be turned. I'll sit it out @ 72 hours instead of 70, thank you very much.

Hockey,
I think the QOL of our reserves varies enormously, by not only seniority but also domicile and equipment.
I am fairly senior in category, can sit SC at home, and think the new system is a huge improvement.
Scoop
+1. Except Im junior and commute. Still like the new system better.
Middle line holder and commuter, bid reserve a couple times a year... Loving the new system
