I have. And I have yet to find one that states a specific number of A320's being parked. Since you claim it's been stated, please prove it.

In the original announcement it was stated that the 739s would be replacing the early 320s, and more recently in the LCP meeting it was stated that up through around 3250 are planned to be parked with the delivery of the 739s.
That being said, based on past experience how much should we rely on LCP meeting minutes? |

Which I can believe, as the manufacture dates for 3209-3250 are from 1990-1993. The next oldest jumps to a manufacture date of 1998.
That being said, based on past experience how much should we rely on LCP meeting minutes? However, it's pretty obvious this is going to happen. I guess its not a bad thing since the 900 pays more... It doesn't bode well for my seniority in category though! |

I do drink....and its not funny.:D But its not my fault if they die from rolling around on the floor laughing. Tsquare and 80 are officially in the danger zone. |
Here's the thing to remember about evaluating the 320. Evidently, they're worth more in parts then as a whole.

From what I've heard, another airplane that has a severe parts shortage is our beloved MD-90.
http://avherald.com/img/saudi_md90_h...h_090508_2.jpg Maybe the Saudi 90s might come in handy? Oh look Florida scored... which puts their defense right back out on the field. So you now might let Louisville score 40? |
Holiday Nonrev Nuttiness
Well, last few years the wife and I have nonrevved internationally on Christmas Day, and come back about a week into January. It's worked out pretty well, we've never had a problem getting there or back.
This year, we brilliantly decided to stay in the country, visit friends in Portland the weekend before Christmas, then fly out to LAX 29Dec and return 1Jan. Bad idea!!! It turns out Christmas/New Years is a really hard time to nonrev around the US! Who knew!? ;) Getting to Portland wasn't bad, but we had to take Horizon to Spokane to get back. LA on the other hand went from being fairly open to horribly oversold with a ton of nonrevs, literally overnight. We tried getting there Saturday and Sunday and never came closer than 20 numbers to getting on. At one point there were 68 nonrevs on the list with no seats available for the next two days. Finally on Monday, my wife told me to take the jumpseat and go hang out with our LA friends over NYE without her. Our friends happen to be two good-looking twin sisters. Delta Revenue Management Rocks!!! :D Was also in the jumpseat coming back. Both crews (LA based) were cool, friendly, & gracious. Thanks guys! I do have to say, every time I see that 737NG overhead panel, I have to double-check the airworthiness certificate to see if it was really manufactured this century! |
