You nailed it Timbo. ND didn't play anybody other than Stanford. Please don't tell me that Michigan, USC, Pitt, or Navy are tough teams to play. Their whole schedule was a joke. Oops, they did beat Ou in Norman, though. I'll give them that one. Manti Teo isn't playing like an All-American, either. I've seen a number of missed tackles, and he looks like he's just standing there on some plays.

well after Saban runs off to the NFL and Miles continues to mentally implode, the path is pretty clear for A&M to own the west. Unless, a west team with a new coach starts just kicking ass.

I'm sure WSJ didn't make up any numbers. They printed the numbers that Airlines for America and the RAA told them to print, without asking a single question.
I know that some data is hard to verify, but publicly available data is easily available. I found this page in 5 seconds of Googling "faa 2010 airman statistics", first hit too. <sigh> http://www.faa.gov/data_research/avi...atistics/2010/ |

Satan....oops......I mean Saban won't ever leave Bama. He already failed in the NFL and he makes waaaaaaay too much money there. Why would he leave? Recruiting will be a breeze, he makes millions and is revered all along the redneck riviera. He's there to stay.
Yeah... I think he'll stay right where he is! ND should have put Rudy in a lot earlier! :D And why do they have two guys wearing the same number, 5? The QB and the linebacker, both wearing 5. Too bad the two of them together weren't as good as...wait for it... Bama's number 10! I'm not a Bama fan, my kids are at Auburn, or ND, I just wanted to see a good game, and that wasn't it. I'm a UNH Hockey fan! http://www.unhwildcats.com/sports/mice/index |

I could see a local paper without any resources doing that, but this is the WSJ - how hard would it be to verify the data from the FAA? Isn't that the reporter's job to investigate or at least verify the data?

Here's a long article that is vaguely about Spirit Airlines and mostly about the so called "pilot shortage". It goes into a lot of detail and basically says, as we all know, there's no freaking pilot shortage.
Spirit Airlines' Growth: Reasonable, Risky Or Reasonably Risky? - Seeking Alpha I guess the WSJ isn't above making up numbers to make a point apparently. Read the comments below the article - Kit Darby is still predicting the "Great Pilot Shortage" that he has been talking about since the early 90's. Talk about a one trick pony. Well he might just be right - only off by about 25 years. Scoop |

Wonder where Hawaiian is going to use all those new A321's, although the press release says west coast. Gotta love it. You have a good hotel for an overnight, BHM, and they switch it to a an absolutely lousy location. Somewhere in the contract it must say "must be near convention center, ensure no restaurants within a reasonable distance except in hotel, and be around nothing else, crime not a factor..."
