FWIW, I believe that these negotiations took place directly with your mgt because our own is/was inept at negotiating with us as well as running Pinnacle. Delta was first present to oversee our final round of negotiations but instead wound up taking over. Our management has failed in every possible way and everything from here on out is being done at the direction of Delta.

Delta told Pinnacle that the biggest cost issue was that our pilot group was too senior. It's my understanding that just before this deal was crafted Delta had already decided to "Comair" us. With the assistance of Capt. Moak, Wychor was able to address their concern about our "longevity problem" by doing this deal. However I doubt very highly that he sat across the table from Richard Anderson, demanding the exact terms of this deal. Delta wanted us to be cheaper than Gojet, but Wychor wasnt willing to take us that far. Delta remained firm on the payrates we now have. We are now the third least expensive DCI airline behind Gojet and Compass, which by virtue of its flow-through agreement has a built in way to avoid a "longevity problem" like we have. In order to reconcile that problem without simply throwing everyone out on the street, this deal was made to try to get those guys off the list and avoid more stagnation in the future.

These were the terms that we were offered, all or nothing. Time had run out and we were told this is what Delta wanted or they would pull all funding and shut the airline down. We (I) voted to keep our jobs here for now while we wait for hiring elsewhere or perhaps be able to get hired at Delta through this process. That said, no one here is otherwise happy about this TA, nor does anyone want to be viewed in a negative light by Delta pilots because of this deal. But, I underatand your concerns.

If at any point in the process a new restructured pilot CBA is not ratified or approved by the Pinnacle MEC Negotiating Committee, the Pinnacle MEC or any other necessary party to Pinnacle’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy or necessary Association authority, this proposed Bridge Agreement is withdrawn.

Thanks for quoting the agreement, but you may have noticed it's not part of section 1. It appears as a separate agreement from the CBA. So I guess the answer is that no, this agreement is not part of section 1 of the 9E agreement, correct?

Can't wait for our next contract negotiation where we give ever more large RJs away. Moak will have his hands in that as well. It's clear what he's been doing for a long time, I guess some people are waiting for him to burn the house down before they do something. Unfortunately then it's too late.

I doubt LM is interested in a 2nd term as ALPA President. He'll likely move on to bigger things.

Does not matter where you put it.

It is clearly job protection language which defines the work performed by Pinnacle pilots. By definition, that is scope.

No sense in making him wait. Perhaps he would like to spend a little time with his family.

I support MEC autonomy. I am fighting for the right of Delta Reps to be in the room representing Delta pilots.

Why was he wrong to do so, can't the President assist in negotiations?

Wasn't it up to the 9E pilots to ratify this agreement?

I appreciate that you believe that Delta reps should be in the room, but that is an entirely different issue than whether or not this agreement is precedent setting, it's not, amended Section 1 of the 9E or DAL contract, it didn't, or whether the Delta reps had a right to be in the room based on the language in the RLA, PWA, C&BLs, Admin Manual.

If you would like to change the ALPA C&BLs or Admin Manual to require that other pilot groups be a part of each others bargaining then there is a process to make that happen.

Just saying when Delta has out its checkbook to the tune of 2.3 Billion and is down to the last couple of fish in the barrel, that is was no wonder they came riding into town wearing a white hat.

The "crisis" was manufactured. You were manipulated.

IMHO ... you are a Delta pilot. ALPA represents you to Delta management. You fly Delta passengers in Delta jets. You can replace me, I can replace you, our customer would not know the difference. We are alter egos (at least in the professional sense). Welcome aboard.
