All the contractors out there making six figure incomes are paying minimal income tax as they can deduct everything for their business and thus buy a new Superduty pickup every other year to tow the 50K wakeboard boat courtesy of the US government! Sometimes I really hate being a W-2 earner.

You are right. I said it backwards, but my point (which is a defense of the bucket system) still stands. I think we are on the same page. :) As soon as any Pilot hits bucket two all the Pilots in bucket 1 are a higher priority to fly. If you have some guys in Bucket three and some guys in bucket one that is despite the bucket system, I like the bucket system and think it is works pretty well. Scoop Total agreement. You could've saved me a few minutes of typing by getting it right the first time :) Then I could have just said +717!!! or whatever the guys are doing these days :D |

I agree with you. That was a big reason I voted for C2012 - to park a bunch of RJ capacity and shift it to mainline.
I get that you would rather be at Delta with a seniority number rather than flying FOR Delta without one and I wish you the best of luck! |
Does anyone know how to retrieve '12 layover data for per diem calculations? I thought it was under the "pay/time" tab using "time card" or "flight time log" options but I'm having no luck. Thank you!

Question for any line check types. What, if any benefits do you get extra? Pay, positive space to work when doing line checks/OE, etc. Thanks
No positive space but if you are conducting a checking event you can book a jumpseat 9 days ahead. The Standards group is a great group of people, very professional. If you like to teach it's a great deal, if not, no pay is worth the extra work. |

Scoop I don't mind the bucket system either but if I get to bucket number 2 and there are still plenty of guys in bucket number one I don't want to be assigned a short call to push me to bucket 3 when others haven't flown yet. I sat reserve for several years with weekends off under the old system and didnt mind it (I live in base) but have since opted for junior lines over this new reserve system with weekends off. If the short call issue was fixed I would probably bid back to reserve. |
OK, I'm confused with the buckets I guess. Does bucket 1 fly before or after bucket 2 or 3? Does it have anything to do with if/when you get a short call?
Yes, I'm on reserve next month so I actually care LOL. Ferd |
