Delta Airlines Got an Oil Refinery: The Math Does Not Work

The Math can work...

The refinery next to the oilfied behind my house is railing in Bakken crude rather than buying from their neighbor Chevron. They claim transportation cost is in the single digits for the railed in crude.
I bet it makes a difference if the cars then can be filled with distillates and sent back...

The biggest question-mark re: Trainer is the Ruggles departure...

Cheers

OK good info. I guess the numbers won't lie over the next year. I'm pulling for it but it's hard to tell what's going on with weekly write ups that don't jibe with each other. What did happen with Ruggles splitting in under a year? Anybody know the truth? It's a novel idea....hopefully it works out as planned (ie better than buying Comair and ASA).

After reading the memo, my personal opinion is that 1 minute from out to push can only come at the expense of D0. Can't have it both ways...

You know what I actually see a lot, doors closed, ramp ready... Flight deck door still open.

But you know I was in bwi the other day and they have a new rule of no shutting the door til 3 min prior. So we waited til 3 prior to shut the door but it took 2 min to move the jetway and get everyone back into position. So if I call and they say hold the push I'll call you back, we are late. But we could've been out five minutes ago.

Btw, if they know when the airplane is moving why aren't we using that for the out time anyways?

Stopped at a stop light, looked over at the car next to me and it was Gary Busey totally stoned and hair spiking in all directions. He sees my uni epaulets and thinks I'm some sort of chief of police or something. He snapped to and put his hands at 9 and 12 on the steering wheel.

LA. It's so weird I love it.

Classic! BuzzPat, local law enforcement!

Why do I feel like I've just been accused of theft?

You have been. Just wait for threats of discipline up to and including termination. Expect some hostages come next contract. My guess our days of constructive engagement are over and the Minnesota mentality will be the rule of the day.

Landed in SNA yesterday, stopped at gate, shut down, and accomplished the shut down checklist. Had the new ACARS onboard. It didn't show us in till five minutes later as that is how long it took for either a cargo door or 2L to open. The person who keeps putting out these memos needs to return to the line.

Yup, there goes D+0. But they will be able to reduce block times this way, so there goes your raise, QOL, pilot count....however you want to look at it. I think think memo would cause most gate agents to have an aneurism on the spot.

There is no other reason to release a memo like this other that to reduce employee costs.
