Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Apparently not harmed pay wise, but why would you do it, place a individual in a position they cannot hold and will never hold...to what end. There are pilots that can hold the aircraft and probably would be able to teach. The cost is the same.

Well, able to teach and the most qualified to teach are two different things. That said, the bottom line is it's allowed by the contract. If you want it changed, tell ALPA. Then the question will become what are you willing to give up to get rid of it?

This. What he's doing helps no one and can very well come back to bite you.

I always have bent over backwards to help jumpseaters get on, as well as hopped on the FA jumpseat or cockpit jumpseat to help others get on. Just because someone else was a jerk doesn't give an excuse to be a jerk to everyone else.
