Unscientific quick count. 43 Capts and 43 FOs displaced to 717.
31 Capts overall were from the 88 and 60 FOs from the 88. I wonder if the powers to be are happy with those numbers?

I can't see how they won't be happy. I really was amazed at how many 88B's took the freeze/paycut for a glimmer of seniority.

Just shows how stagnant everybody is feeling I guess.

All the more reason you should know better. Guys like you make it harder for everyone. Unbelievable.

We've all been "wronged". The point is to make it right whenever you have the opportunity.

I have been wronged commuting too...it stinks, but oh well. It is the right of the dci company pilots to get on their metal. Fwiw, swa has been the most accommodating since jblu is no longer an option. Both are easier than dal/ dci in my experience.

I lost a beer bet on that one. It was a surprise in the left seat too.

You buy the first, I'll get the next 4 ;)

Why do I not buy the "hiring" thing after this AE?

If by wronged you mean others have followed the set jumpseating rules and priorities and you were left at the gate...that sucks, been there done that, part of the game. Me and the vast majority of DCI guys do everything in our power to get all our fellow pilots on the plane, but there are only so many seats. It's a lot tougher as a DCI guy where mainline has priority over you on every DCI except your own, as well as mainline metal obviously. That's >10000 guys any one of which can kick me out of the jumpseat. It is what it is, one of several reasons I chose to move to my base. For you guys, it should be one more reason to recapture more outsourced flying - easier commutes with more legs on your own metal.

Hmm... 2 people that went through 320 school with me got awarded an AE and a VD. I'm frozen... how are they not?

I think you can take a VD even if you are frozen. Not sure what happened with the AE, unless they had been MD'd, then reinstated, which would break their freeze.

Did you hang onto the Bus?

Sounds like the makings of another bet.;)

lots of long courses on the 717A side.

And lots of them holding it on a mandatory displacement with no freeze.
They can train and then bid right off if they don't like the jet or the trips.
There will be training logjams for quite a while.

And summer off? HA! jokes on us. Not many will get it. All they have to do is convert out of seniority order and just pay protect a bunch of those guys who only need the short course and leave them on their old equipment for the summer. But guess what? The pay protection is ZERO because the 717 pays LESS. DOH!!

forgot to bid 03-20-2013 10:29 AM

Overall, it looks like the AE wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

A lot of guys made elective choices that opened up opportunities down the food chain. I was surprised how junior ATL7ER went given the entire 767 category closed.

I count 107 717B's. Didn't the bid say they wanted 145 in each seat?

Bring on the hiring!

I may be wrong but I believe the 717 went to 120. Average seniority was 10,600 or a July 2007 hire on DALS or a 2000 hire on DALN side.
