I've been known to have problems counting in the past. Hopefully you just put 13 guys behind me and not in front :p

Your seniority guage looks pretty accurate for the category.

Another downside of all the 88B's AEing into the category is they CAN'T leave if/when things start moving in the other direction.

The majority of ATL717B will look very similar for the next 24 months IMO.

I think you can take a VD even if you are frozen. Not sure what happened with the AE, unless they had been MD'd, then reinstated, which would break their freeze.

Did you hang onto the Bus?

Disregard, both were AEs. One of them was my classmate, and I know he was coming off the 73N. Perhaps he was coming back from MIL, but I'm pretty sure I would remember that.

By my count, I moved up 1 and gained 5 below me. .... hooray.

I had 16% pref for the 717 if I moved up even slightly in category, and I was about 15-20 numbers from holding that.

When I showed up, he had not even boarded yet. The flight attendant jumpseat privileges are there to help us get on our own metal, not other pilots. I'm alright with karma. I don't go out of my way to deny someone. I just refuse to sit in a flight attendant jumpseat unless it is to get me on. I would like to add that it is my right to do that. I do not break any rules. We are not required to do that anymore than we are required to sit in the jumpseat as a deadheader to get another passenger on.

I'm sure you make a great employee at Spacklair.

You know the sad thing is that many of those guys jumped ship on the 88 wanting to get some seniority and ended up in worse shape in a more senior category. Now they will feel the wrath of 5 leg days for 2 years. At least the 88 has the odd 3+ hour leg. ouch!

That's why it pays to know the rules. Tuition in the school of life can be expensive.

They can train and then bid right off if they don't like the jet or the trips.
There will be training logjams for quite a while.

And summer off? HA! jokes on us. Not many will get it. All they have to do is convert out of seniority order and just pay protect a bunch of those guys who only need the short course and leave them on their old equipment for the summer. But guess what? The pay protection is ZERO because the 717 pays LESS. DOH!!

Amen to that.

None in ATL either, and I had a bunch leave above me...that's the good news. Bad news...I lost count of all the guys moving in above.

Be sure to tell us that (you refuse to sit in a FA jumpseat) next time one of us is about to do that for you. Will make leaving you behind very easy.

Why would you need to do it for me? I can sit in the flight attendant jumpseat on our metal. When I go on outside carriers, I never ask a pilot to do that for me. If he offers, that's his choice. If he does not, I am not offended. I do not go out of my way to make someone miserable. I help jumpseaters on my flights as much as possible. I am not the only one at our airline that refuses to give up the cockpit jumpseat. I have witnessed it first hand by other pilots. It is their choice just as it is mine. You guys act like I am trying to screw over other pilots. Most of the pilots that expect me to take the flight attendant jumpseat are not even allowed to sit in the F/A jumpseat on their own metal. I am not breaking any rules or etiquette. Get over it.

Your entitled to do as you wish but which carriers don't allow their pilots on FA seats? That is pretty crappy.
