Where does it say that those were unfilled positions? Maybe that just decided not to have that many openings on this bid.

By my count, it's pretty much a wash for the bottom 15% of the list.

Go to Deltanet and take a look at the AE posted on 3/8. The AE listed 145 B717 FO vacancies when it was posted. Only 120 or so were filled. :)

Because of the ease to transition to the 717 or did I miss sarcasm

Because they can be converted with the 5 day transition course(vs a full course), & be given a 2 year training freeze as a result.

That's sad if they only have 3 planes to begin with. :D

Reminds me of the Army Vietnam pilot who was in charge of a 12 helicopter squadron that lost 14 helicopters.

I know how many were orginally posted. I am saying how do know if they simply just decided not to have that many openings in the end.

146 captains were filled and only 121 FOs.... that is a huuuge imbalance.

A majority of the captains will require a full course as most are first time captains. Most of B positions are coming from the 88 and only need 5 days. I am curious if that played a factor in the imbalance. Maybe they are witholding some until the next bid to make sure their is enough coverage on the 88 in the summer.

That is quite possible.

They sure mitigated the cascade as much as possible. If I wasn't frozen, I could have bid to the ER and been almost where I would have been in 09, though not as senior as in late 08.

I'm glad I set my % thresholds where I did for the 717- With them only filling 120, I would have been far off the seniority that I wanted to be on it given that I moved up 7% on the 320. (but still deep in rsv) Perhaps with balancing out the captains on the ATL320, they will put more lines in ATL.
