ah, I apologize for using the actual script here...

This is the MD-88. Watch it land in slow motion.

It's pretty badass. Look. It runs all over the place. "Whoa! Watch out!" says that 767.

Landing? It really doesn't give a ****. If it's hungry for asphault, it's hungry for asphault.

Look at this, there's the MD-88 just eating up a runway, and then look, "Get away from me!" says the runway, "Get away from me!" MD-88 don't care. MD-88 smacks the **** out of it. And the runway comes back and it lashes at the MD-88.

Oh, little does the MD-88 know, FYI: it's been stung! It's been bitten on the tail skid, so while it's eating up that runway -- eew, that safety wire is gone -- and that little pointer is pointing down on the MD-88s tail, and it passes out. Look at that sleepy ****.

Now the MD-88 is going to pass out for a few minutes, and then it's going to get right back up and start eating runway all over again.

Why? Because it just doesn't give a ****.

Darling don't say a word, I've already heard,
What your asphalt is saying to all these tires,
You’ve got a fast move, you got a slow groove, on your mind

You want a plane with a slow hand, you want a jet with an easy touch
You want plane that will spend some time
Not come and go in a heated rush
Runway, believe me, I understand, when it comes to love
You want a slow 330.

I think Conway Twitty makes an excellent look for the A330.

Although this does seem kind of Long Beach made here?

Always 6 months ago I was hoping to be under the wire at my current seniority... and they always move the bar lower!

Sorry Imapilot, but for those of us who for 12 years have watched the company reduce the # of pilots required, always just less than where we sit, we KNOW that we are just one un-voted side-letter away from being furloughed again... just one 757 retirement away... just one 737 being outsourced again to DCI away...

Yes, it's a big thing. Great on the company for being productive, if my #1 concern in life was the value of return on my Delta stock I'd be saying "sweeet!" But my concern is with my flying career-- I'm locked into a position here at Delta by a totally bogus non-portable seniority system that resets me to college grad status if I try to take my 30 years of flying experience and skills and market myself-- I CAN'T "go somewhere else if you don't like it!". I pay a significant chunk of my salary each month to my bargaining agent to PROTECT my fragile position, NOT to make Delta more productive. Each 5 months another AE comes out showing how my position has degraded, and how I am now even closer to the bottom of the pile and even closer to being furloughed as excess. Bah on that! If I was #1 concerned about stock returns, I'd be prosecuting investor initiatives to limit executive compensation to only 20 times the average worker's salary. Someone out there is seriously doing a better job looking out for executive pay and bonuses than my union is doing looking out for my pay and bonuses, and it's worrisome.

OTOH I had some really superb cask ale and brisket tonight, so I'm not entirely bitter ;) Cask ale... bitter... you see what I did there? ;)

I hope things get better for you.

One of the most basic principles of any union is to preserve jobs. When our union takes actions that require fewer pilots I have to question what is going on at DALPA. Of course it would help if we the pilot group stopped ratifying these TA's that require fewer of us.

Over time there is no way increasing line holder and reserve ALV's will do anything other than require fewer bodies to run the airline. Changing the number of days in the bid periods; yep, fewer bodies.

I heard the statement "Richard Anderson isn't comfortable with how little our pilots fly in the winter". After the MASSIVE concessions that we gave during BK I don't care what RA and management want. I voted NO on the contract not because I think we could of gotten that much more, it's that I know we could of given up less.

It's this type of complacency and ridicule towards those who are trying to improve our position (and point out where we are failing) that ensure our jobs will never be as lucrative as they should be.

Maybe Imapilot2 sincerely hopes things do get better for everyone. Maybe Imapilot2 has genuinely wished good upon his fellow pilot. Possibly Imapilot2 realizes that when the positive movement starts the 'all about me' types will stop sobbing about how bad things are and forever will be? Perhaps he longs for a day when prosperity floats all the boats and the little girl tears will cease. Imapilot2 may have a dream. A beautiful dream. Dry eyes and clear skies for all. It could happen.

Purple,

What are you doing to improve our position? If it is simply *****ing on an anonymous web board I would guess that it is not going to help much. If you are doing something else I would be interested to know what it is.
