MSP is profitable, so I'm sure Delta won't cut off its nose to spite its face by shrinking it willy-nilly. But just because the 717 will likely be hubbing there, doesn't necessarily mean Delta needs/wants to create a 717 pilot base there. |
It was kind of alluded to but not exactly mentioned a few posts ago:
I saw at least three initial 717 check airman that could NOT hold the 717 on this bid and were awarded widebody FO positions. WHat happens now with these guys? |

The most junior 717A (awarded) is about 900 numbers senior to the most junior M88A going through 717 training right now. I'm sure it's legal, however I'll bet some of those between those two numbers who bid it, but didn't get it aren't quite so understanding.

All I know is Atlanta just keeps getting more and more senior with every bid.
Also, they keep shrinking MSP. Who knew that 5 years seniority would not be enough to hold it?!? That place was a fortress hub and they are ****ing it away like they did Western. |

You can blame management for that. They seem to think almost every aircraft needs a base in ATL.

What's The Worst Commercial Passenger Plane Still In Use?
I've been flying a little more lately and it's become obvious how much of a range there is in the quality of the planes that are flying around, even within a single airline. But what's the worst commercial passenger plane still in regular use? I'm going to start easy and domestic with the MD-80. It's an improved DC-9, which was a great plane… for 1965. The design is far too old and I actively seek out other planes when given the choice. American Airlines and Delta both have more than 100 of these in their fleets and they're cramped, dingy, inefficient, and slow. You're much better off in a 737 or A320. |
