The article I read today said Congress and the DOT did back us but the President did this at the White House level. Here comes the second shot to make sure we are dead Dubai Airport Sees Potential For U.S. Customs Post

Did anyone see that Abu Dhabi is getting its own US Customs pre-clearance facility funded 80 percent by them? ALPA pac grass roots effort FAIL!!!! This was something small. If ALPA can't stop this, there's no way cabotage will be stopped.

Bad enough that it's happening, but WHO is paying for the other 20%???

Unbelievable BS

Have your wives, family, friends, etc sign it as well. Not that it will do much good, but might as well let them know we're ****ed

Sorry, but if the Department of Homeland Security can't keep a street in Boston safe, then I have little to no faith that they will be able to probably screen passengers and identify security threats on the other side of the world.

That might be a stretch, but I think DHS, TSA, and Secretary Napolitano all need some major retooling.

Thanks Wilbur. How far out will they award a white slip request?

First white slips for next month are processed on the 20th, so you can get them any time after that, right up to the day of the trip.

Fortunately a MD88 can take a HMS Host Ford F350 junk food and newspaper delivery truck without damage. Wonder how many ground crews with belt loaders have been innocently blamed for acts of Douglas aggression?

"But Sir, there was twinkie filling near the door, it could not have been us"

You're a very smart guy. I thought you were being serious until I read it for the 3rd time and realized you are.

I think sometimes though people confuse the MD-88 don't care meme.

Does the MD-88 care if the runway is grooved? No.

Does it care if it's not grooved? No.

Does it care if it lands short? No.

Does it care if it gets greased on? No.

Does it care if it runs off the end? No.

Does it care if it runs off the side? No.

Does it care if you use the reverser? No.

Does it care if you don't use the reverser? No.

Does it care if you try? No.

Does it care if you don't? No.

Does it care you put an altitude in the altitude select window? Hell no.

I could go on.

Frankly the damn thing just doesn't care what you do or what you were planning on doing... the only thing that matters is that you care what it does.
