So do RJ pilots really pop it off the runway, or is that just a rumor?

You CAN rip the 145 off the ground, just like you CAN "positiverategearupselectHDG". It always feels nicer when you take your time with rotation. And you can pretend you're flying something, err, bigger ;)

Have you guys ever non revved to Europe in the summer? Are the loads pretty bad? I'm thinking of planning a trip to barcelona in August. Any advice?

Completely agree! Thank you for the detailed explanation.

Gotta admit putting myself in the newbie F/O's shoes I'd feel awful. I'm glad "cooler heads prevailed".

Having flown in Russia (during my 727 days) Russian controllers mastery of the English language is marginal at best. Add in the metric altimetry and everything else going on and the poor guy was set up for failure.

In my original post I said that after reading his post, I was all geared up for CQ. But, then I remembered that I always get A periods, so I edited it. It was a good post, but not THAT good. :D

Cohiba,

Great post. Pretty informative.

Ditto that. Saw that poor crew come dragging back to the hotel with most of the pax, a pitiful sight. Hearing that it was a new hire and they were to DH to ATL the next day, I felt even worse for the poor crew knowing there would be a gaggle of suits meeting them. Good to hear they are emphasizing that qualification standard less and putting more on flying the jet.

So, any new rumors? Isn't that what this thread is all about? What happened to the A319/320/321/330/777/747's we would be getting? New refinery? Crude oil tanker? Pipeline? Tablet device with Beats by Dr. Dre?

I saw a lot of F-16s with tail damage from landing. Very easy to hit the speedbrakes if you got too slow. I also saw guys hit the strakes, nozzle, and the horizontal stab...took some serious ham-fisting to make that happen.

Everyone things the F-16 is always that lean, clean air-air machine. Try flying the old F-16A model with two wing tanks, centerline ECM pod, 6 mark 82s (over 35,000 GW). Even with full A/B you had a long roll and flew it carefully off the ground.

As part of Standard Text, rumors will no longer be fleet specific. In case of operational necessity, individual fleets may ask for their own, specific rumors, but as of now now exceptions are being granted.

For cost reasons, rumors will also will be chronologically and quantitatively de-identified, so that they may be recycled.

I was just at the CPO, and I hear we're getting/got/have [aircraft], and we're going to need/need/don't need to hire/not hire/furlough pilots as early as last/this/next year.

If fixed the standard text recycling options for you.

No load advice, but Barcelona is hot as hell in August. I'd aim further north;)

Are there qualifiers for white slips like there are for yellow slips? I wanted to put in an open white slip but only wanted to designate international layovers.

You can't say "International Only," but you can list the cities you'd like to layover in. (Or cities to avoid.)

6 Green Slips for ATLM88B today. Yeah, I'd say we're pretty overstaffed for the summer.
