more more 90s?

I think more more 90's. This article was from the latest Av Week, and I think these 11 may be on top of the previous orders. If I'm wrong, I'm sure somebody will put me in my place.

Good Day

the only people upset about more 90s are the FAs and mechanics especially the ones who do the engine changes.

I flew on the 9 the other day, what a great galley.

That's what the second engine is for. Since it was an F-16 it was just short of the crash site. ;)

Glad everyone got out ok.

When the F16 first came on line, they were jumping out of so many of them up at Luke that it earned the nick name:

The Utah State Flower! :D

I've heard "Lawn Dart" (remember Jarts from the 70's). Love the Hendrix reference in the Avatar --- because her sister will.

I am continually disappointed in many of the outcomes ALPA, weather it national or local, delivers....or better yet fails to deliver. Most of that anger and frustration is we don't believe we are getting what we expect or more so what we request, whether it in face to face meeting with reps or via surveys.
I used to say and believe the same thing you and 767 speak, which is to get involved! While I still think it is vital that all members get involved in participation, it isn't vital that they become volunteers within ALPA. We all have reasons to get involved or not and I respect and am very grateful for those that do step up. I just have trouble believing everything we are told by ALPA b/c we have all been let down so many times. Do I think there are better alternatives? Not at the moment, but I do think more involvement from the membership is important.
All that being said, ALPA lost the respect of it's constituents when it failed to deliver on what many felt were opportunities. No of us were "in the room" but all of us know what we put on our surveys. There are still opportunities to be had and I am cautiously optimistic that the membership will make gains with these opportunities.
ALPA needs to earn our respect back by being more open. I have seen more transparency in the past 6 months and more face to face from volunteers. It's all a good start, but ALPA needs to continue to do what the membership ask not what ALPA thinks is best.
I thank you for stepping up and volunteering to try and make an impact on our union and this pilot group. I just hope the other members of all LEC's will do the same as I know you will.

I understand where you are coming from, but also understand that more volunteers is a good thing. If that is not something you can do, I get it, we are busy, we have lives outside of flying, but consider a few things to do then. (Not saying you don't)

-Donate to ALPA PAC (start with five dollars a pay check, participation rate matters to)
-Do the Calls-to-Action (CTA's)
-Make it a priority to come to at least two if not all four LEC meetings a year. (C44 put the notice out for Aug 1 two bid periods early)
-Vote on everything
-Email your Reps on every issue. Tell em you agree or disagree. Email is free and quick, and when you only a few with an issue email it is a really small sample of the temperature of the pilot group (email all your Reps, not just one)

Delta Fined for Bumping Fliers Before Seeking Volunteers - Bloomberg

Somewhat amusing part of the story is that Delta can use $425,000 of the $750,000 to buy tablet computers for employees that Delta had been planning to buy already... that's getting in trouble and coming out like Conan.

Hello electronic flight bags :) (or at least the Red Coat EFB)

I read this, and had to make a comment. You don't like what our union is doing to our careers? Are you really angry? Well, do something about it! Run for office! Do some committee work! If you haven't done anything, I can only assume that you're either too lazy, or too risk averse to run for a position.

Like the other keyboard commandoes, you do nothing but sit on the sidelines, throwing rocks at the people who are actually trying to improve our prospects. Do you really think that you can effect change while sitting in your boxers in your hotel room, hammering away on a keyboard?

Despite what you may think, what is said on this board doesn't alter the course of our union. To even a greater extent than the ALPA message boards, this is becoming a forum for the disaffected outliers. Rational, balanced views are met with criticism and personal attacks.

Do you actually wonder why so many people have left this forum? I used to be on here frequently (back in the ACL65 days, when there was good information to be found here). Now, this thread is worth no more than an occasional drive-by. There still are some worthwhile posters on here (no, you're not one of 'em), but their voices are being drowned out by too many keyboard commandoes.

I like the whole breadth of our posters. From Finis72 to Purple, each and everyone of us brings something to the table.

Now, lets bring everybody back. I have a real JUICY rumor. Its a start but here it goes:

**9 747s need a home and the little black birdie tells me they might come our way.

Have a great day and god bless that beautiful child that passed.

Hey, whatever happened to that ACL65 guy? He seemed to have some decent info.

are we having problems finding the 717 internally? although I personally think we are short on the 88 I wonder if the percieved shortness is related to nobody taking summer irops into account? or that will be the excuse.

BTW, heard the quick 88 -> 717 transition is a pita.

This projected category list is for December 2013 and some of the 717B conversions from the March AE don't occur until early 2014.
