I have absolutely no doubt we will be approached. None.

I hope we will handle it as well as we did in Contract 2012 (and I think we handled that exchange well).

Do you want to put some money on this bar? I am open for a bet!

First, I know of not one post here that ever called you a thief. Not one. I have only said that your actions while in office were in the furtherance of some ALPA national goal as opposed to the local union's pilots. That's not calling you a thief. Second, we line pilots share your frustration about putting in unpaid hour after unpaid hour. But that's our contract...and yours.

Why don't you ask Nu Guy or ACL about how many hours they work uncompensated? I am sure their eyes have been opened. I doubt a day goes by that they don't do some ALPA work.

Nobody disagrees about how tough a reps job is. But you weren't a rep Alfa. You were near the top of the DALPA pyramid and that's a very different life than that of a rep. It's unfortunate that our union's structure is so upside down. Reps are supposed to be at the top of the pyramid, but at DALPA, they're not. But I digress.

So yes, it is different for the ALPA President. The guys that are lobbying for Emirates probably get $1,000 an hour and entertain Congressmen at the Ritz. They have an unlimited entertainment budget. They wouldn't even blink at spending $500, 600 or 1,000 a head for dinner. Emirates is spending millions. If you can't see how we need to invest a teeny fraction of our income in protecting our careers then heaven help you.

I wonder if you see the fallacy in your argument. If it's simply a money game, we have no hope. We will never be able to compete with the dollars of industry and foreign governments. Never. There's not that many dues dollars and/or PAC dollars available from working class union members. If your argument were true, we've been fraudulently taking PAC money from members to pursue a losing strategy. But your argument isn't true. We've won some political battles against foes that were far richer.

The truth is that all we can hope for is our ideas winning the day. You need a little money to physically be in DC, but we can never afford the amount of money it takes to influence someone if right is not on our side.

I personally don't care what they spend on dinners IF they get results. The last/lost decade has not been kind to the profession. My question is how much pac money did the A4A/RAA spend the last decade vs ALPA, CAPA, etc.? My guess is we are being outspent 10-1. Alfa, Sailing????

Great point. Unfortunately, our national union is mirroring the behavior of government. Absolutely huge amounts of money taken in with very poor results. Yet the "solution" we are asked to believe is to send more money. :(

FTB is unable to defend the walls. He's going on the Price is Right.

Now ask yourself, would you want FTB to protect your walls? Yes.

Yes I would! That mustache alone will scare away any attackers of the wall.

Whomever writes the Flight Ops trim tab has a sense of humor.
In the paragraph about the printer paper, at the end:

"This means there will be fewer MCOs, which makes Maintenence happy, and pilots can print TP, clearances, WDR etc, which makes us Happy"

Yep. Aircraft orders and deals typically take a while. Sounds like they reemphasized that something is in the works today at some meeting. All good things!

Oh, and "you're" ** ;)

Would you like to elaborate?
