The guy must be pretty good so as to be playing both sides like that, huh?
He's only giving the store away to those who support his political base.

Very good point. I wish we could do it. But, the large PACs, corporations, political organizations, and lobbyists in general (read those with money to spend on their causes) just won a huge Supreme Court case that determined efforts to curb their spending was an infringement of their rights to express their political views.

The accuracy of these "news" reports always astounds me. That's the stumpiest looking "757" I've ever seen. Must be one of them new -900's

Was optimistic someone wouldn't feel like they have to point out how someone was wrong in an aviation article.
God forbid someone say "tarmac" without being immediately corrected.

It's easier to escape in a boat if the boat is in water. Word to the wise.

EVERETT, Wash., April 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) announced that it will adjust the production rate for the 747-8 program from two airplanes to 1.75 airplanes per month because of lower market demand for large passenger and freighter airplanes.

Boeing will continue to monitor market conditions and their effect on production rates moving forward. The company expects long-term average growth in the air cargo market to resume in 2014, and forecasts a demand for 790 large airplanes (such as the 747-8 Intercontinental) to be delivered worldwide over the next 20 years.

The 747-8 family provides airlines with double-digit improvements in fuel burn, operating costs and emissions, while being 30 percent quieter and adding more capacity. To date, there are 110 orders for passenger and cargo versions of the 747-8, 46 of which have been delivered.

The first delivery of an airplane at the new production rate is expected in early 2014. The production rate change is not expected to have a significant financial impact.

Heyas,

ACL is on the money. I used to be as dubious as Carl and the rest of you, but the threats facing our pilot group are huge.

Go and surf on over to some other forums, and see what the airline biz in Europe is like. Get back to me if that's the kind of industry you want here.

Here's a hint...the days of Sabina and Swissair are long, long gone.

I throw ALPA PAC a 20 spot every month, which isn't even what I spend on my weekly Caribou Coffee habit. I don't miss it, but the PAC would, and I sleep better at night.

This is a pain. you can't bid 01JUL for a golden day on training because it's not a part of the June bid period but right above it says bid runs from 02Jun-01Jul.

Sometimes Icrew is Ecrew on botox... unless I'm missing something.
