777-300ER's. My money is on the 330's but I have heard some interesting tidbits that might lend credence to a Boeing upset

Random Interline Travel Question.

If you purchase a ZED Fare ticket and decide to leave earlier, say three days, can you still use that ticket or do you need to purchase another ticket?

The NTSB is a government agency. Government = the American people = "us".

Whether you or I or ALPA wishes they would hold off on releasing the hard data is immaterial. The chairwoman believes that since the data belongs to the public, the public should see it as soon as the data is available. Same with the probable cause finding...you can expect she will release that in a public hearing the minute the board makes its determination. She's one of those public servants who understands who she works for, and no amount of pressure or insults from ALPA will change her mind.

ALPA has no "right" to be part of this or any investigation. They are there only at the invitation of the NTSB. if there's any more mouthing off from ALPA, I predict they'll be thrown out of any investigative role here. I can't imagine the howls of "clown show" from alfaromeo/slowplay etc., had this been done by DPA.

Rumor Alert
Buddy of mine that's a DFW controller tells me that Delta is going to bring the hub back to DFW.

It depends on the carrier but typically, yes...

I've had LH accept an eZed fare for MUC LAX on MUC SFO just minutes before departure...

eZed rocks, because the purchase and refund process is all online.

Those are different jets and I can see us needing both...

The 773 at 350 seats, slides nicely between our 300 seaters (772 and 333) and the 400 seat 744...

We would need a few (single digits) to be able to flex the network based on demand.

The 333 after is just a little more than half the price of the 777.
I would imagine this is the financial sweet spot to add widebody capacity and free the existing 777LR for ULH missions...

I would imagine Delta would purchase quite a few more A333...

The ugly duckling in all this is the 340-600 and I would not be surprised to see us picking up a few on the cheap, It would be the widebody equivalent to the MD90 purchase...

Cheers

None of the DPA leadership after a decertification of ALPA has been elected by Delta pilots yet. So their maturity level can't be judged.

Carl

Carl,

I have to respectfully disagree with you. While we all know that none of the possible future DPA leadership has been elected, we do know who is in charge of the campaign.

Caplinger has been the voice of DPA. You have to admit that he has stepped on his crank a couple times. Unfortunately his crank stomping really turned some people off, myself included. He has tainted the drive. I wish he would've stepped back from the spotlight much sooner and let someone else be the visible advocate.

One person, be it Lee Moak or T Caplinger, can ruin public support by their choice of words. In Moaks case by some of his actions too. Caplinger is like a big wart on the face of the campaign.

Please understand that this is what I believe. This is my opinion based on what I've been exposed to with this drive. DPA can improve their image by listening to opinions expressed here and other venues. We all have asked ALPA to listen, DPA should do the same.

I'm just one person, but I have talked to many who feel the same way. Right now ALPA is the lesser of two evils. Give me a reason to support the DPA again. Don't give me a list of pro DPA anti ALPA stuff. I know all that. Give me a reason to get behind the PEOPLE responsible for the drive.

Edit....feel free to share this with the DPA leadership.

Excellent post hoser.
Caplinger became a liability with a couple of communiques that showed very poor judgment.

DPA just needs one guy who can bring both credibility and some charisma .
If that person ever shows up, I think DALPA could be in some serious trouble.

Guys have had it with Moakism and constructive engagement. It ain't workin'.
Management is eating our lunch on scope, pay and work rules.

George, I hope you are right. The 777-300ER is the future replacement for the 747's straight from the horses mouth ( as of now). JFK to points in Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore et al) requires a 777LR but most everything else could be served by the A333 ( not ULH), 747's,777's, and 330's and I hope 777-300's. If the big D is planning expansion or just another reallocation will lend in the ultimate decision.
