So there are four trips in open time on Saturday. Three two day trips with early reports and a commutable three day trip. I'm in the six day bucket and I'm the senior reserve. Guess who gets the nice commutable three day trip? The junior guy in the three day bucket while I get stuck with the nasty non-commutable two day causing me to lose a whole day at home. What a bunch of garbage.

Standby to be flamed by those who despise seniority on reserve.....

For a couple of years (99-2011) we actually honored a high yellow with out regards to DOA, but that went away with C2K.

That is what I am saying! Have to test the waters somewhere! An increase in market share is a good thing, it can be better once flown by Delta pilots on Delta planes, but like others have said, it's a start. :)

Actually, my rep indicated that a monetary penalty would be an acceptable outcome.

Unbelievable.

They're handing out Saturday trips on a Thursday?

Really classy. Nice response. I've been on reserve 4 of 5 years here and displaced 5 times, so I think I get to vent a little.

The point I was trying to make is that if we're all going to be assigned trips, then the senior guy should have preference. Or if I want to fly, I should be able to take a trip on my reserve day regardless of what bucket I'm in.

No. Just trying to plan my commute for the trips on Saturday. Difference between leaving tomorrow morning at 5am or 11pm.

Cycle,
Did you put in a yellow slip for the trip? The 3 day trip is supposed to go to the person with 3 days of availability, regardless of seniority...all things being equal of course. If you YS, then I think you would have gotten the trip.

I called scheduling and they said that the trip will go to the 3 day bucket person regardless of seniority or yellow slip because I'm in the 6 day bucket.
