In Sep, ALV was 72, with 81% lineholders, and there are only 5 trips in open time.

Basically I'm wondering what the mgt theory is to fly fewer of your guys in a high time month like Aug, to a higher level so they can't actually pick up OT, but leave more reserve guys to cover MUCH more OT.

It doesn't make sense, unless I look at it like this: a line guy can only be flown to the ALV (on average), which is capped at 84ish. But RES guys can be flown all the way to ALV+15, without their consent/cooperation. Therefore, in high time months it now makes sense to INCREASE the % of reserves in a category, because you don't actually plan on them sitting reserve at all--you plan on using them as high-time "slop line" flyers mostly! You let a TON of flying go to OT, 4 times as much as in Sep, because you plan on using most of your reserve guys to just churn through all that time that COULD have been given out as more limited lines.

Anyone else notice this in Aug vs. Sep?
That about sums it up. Don't forget on most trips reserves get paid less for them so factor that in too.

Joking aside, if she who should not be named becomes the next president I am extremely fearful for our national security. I think the question will be more of when rather than if.
The Clintons don't have a good track record regarding security responsibilities. Just take a look at Madam Secretary's mishandling of the Benghazi incident.
Not trying to make this a republican verse democrat issue, but I have little faith in her ability to keep our country safe and our borders secure.

Didn't read anything in there about presidential appointments of "experts" to death panels. FAIL

Were the Dems for it or against it in 1974?

One large-scale proposal combined employer-mandates with a subsidy program for the poor. The response on the hill was mixed; Republicans felt the proposal was too expansive and the Democrats felt it was not expansive enough. Furthermore, the administration pointed out that health reform seemed to conflict with their political philosophy and that it alienated conservative politicians. (Wainess:1999) Nixon began to realize that it would be hard to pass any legislation, as Congress was dominated by Democrats and he could rarely find unity among his own party. Democrats began responding to Nixon's partisan politics by showing a surprising degree of party unity (Conlan 1984: 255).

Sure its not as simple as the above paragraphs reads, H Truman and D Eisenhower presented like plans.

Now I knew I was going to have trouble getting people to believe that the Heritage Foundation came up with a national health care plan nearly 25 years ago. But, now you are posting an article that says Nixon proposed one 40 years ago and you want them to believe it?

Come on. You know you are pushing the limits.
