I don't believe that is true. I think Caplinger's hatred for all things ALPA is so deep seeded that he will keep it alive just to continue to poke them in the eye. (Wasn't there original a red line after which, if they didn't have the cards they would go away? Seems that line is about as real as Oboma's) He feels he was betrayed when he got furloughed. He wants revenge. He will miss his target and he is hitting us. I find that offensive. If you buy into his rhetoric, you must believe that negotiating our contract is a very simple thing. If you believe that... truly believe that, then you have a lot to learn about business.

OK, let me rephrase: If ALPA was doing its' job, then the DPA would have quickly fallen off the radar screen, and we would not be having this discussion.

For the record, I know negotiating pilot working agreements is not a simple thing. But the following is: leave personalities out of it. We can debate the strength and weaknesses of ALPA without impugning individuals.

I agree with this.

What exactly is misleading and untrue? If you're going to accuse me of something, then you need to be specific.

Are you stating that DALPA has control over how DAL management spends $$$? Are you stating that we as pilots had control? Could DAL have not provided the financing necessary for Pinnacle to stay afloat without our current contract? From what I have been told by Pinnacle pilots, 9e had the youngest CRJ-200s in the DCI fleet. So explain to me how DALPA screwed up. Or better yet, tell me how DPA would've done it better.

Really? DPA has been campaigning for 3+ years. They have failed to call a vote yet. If ALPA was "failing to do it's job", then DPA could've easily called a vote by now. But after 3+ years, they still can't call a vote. This is Tim Caplinger dragging out his personal vendetta. Like USAPA, he's doing nothing except creating division and wasting $$$.

Management and you fail to bring that up though. Your response is so management groupthink ingrained you completely overlooked the obvious answer to your own question..."Oh, and tell me what Delta would have looked like with the loss of 1/3 of DCI over the summer...I think they were about 8% of our domestic network."

The answer: A transition program implemented well ahead of time to keep the planes flying.....By DELTA MAINLINE PILOTS!

Well you'll need to provide proof of the contract expiration dates and proof that the contracts would not need to be renewed. Because the 10-K info that I saw from Skywest/ASA shows that their CPAs were good through 2022.

IIRC, only portions of the CPAs were good through 2022. It's a phased thing. Remember seeing the commitments published during C2012? The 50 seaters were goners down to what numbers we will be seeing, just C2012 moved it up a year or two.

Yes, the DPA has been campaigning for 3+ years. The reason we are discussing the topic, the reason that ALPA is now addressing it, is 4000 plus pilots signed a card.

But go ahead and believe, or claim, that the 4000 pilots did it because they believe it is in their best interest to help one pilot with a personal vendetta.

If this turns into a real ***** fest about individual(s) and not the issues, then it will really get ugly and we will fragment.
