Because the BOD, not the membership elects the President, FVP, Treasurer, and Secretary in accordance with the Constitution & By-laws.

The BOD, not the shareholders elect the CEO, COO, and CFO in accordance with their Constitution & By-laws.

Either organization could decide a different way to choose their officers. You'd need to convince a majority to support a change the Constitution & By-laws.

It would have to be a change that pilots across ALPA desire to see.

I prefer to de-politicize our union as much as possible. Membership election for the president increases the politicization of the position. I feel the same way about the MEC "electing" committee chairmen. I'd rather let the guys who we elected to pay attention to that stuff for us pick the best guys for the job. We always have recall abilities. YMMV.

Carl

You want me to post TC's logbook writeup's as well as statements from the captain's that he flew with on this public forum?

I don't think TC would deny any of what he did, in fact I'm sure he's proud of it. And I'm not arguing his legal right to write anything up on the aircraft that he feels is unsafe. All I'm saying is these types of actions (in my opinion) indicate someone who lacks a realistic and 'big picture' vision for moving our profession careers forward.

We don't vote very often as a pilot group. MEMRAT is very rare. Too rare.

DALPA wants pilot engagement. Here's a chance. Lots of line pilots are concerned about the durability and enforcability of our section 1 and all the modifications we make to it. These scope deals seem pretty important. Certainly worthy of a vote.

What say you DALPA?

Excellent point check!

He failed to communicate to his neighbors in the way Bush was able to.

I think the fine people of Tennessee, the type that love orange, had seen enough. ;)

Yes.

You're the one posting these allegations for the express purpose of smearing one of your fellow pilots. Posting your evidence to back up your claims is the least you can do.
