I don't recall the exact numbers, but didn't the JCBA pass by an overwhelming margin on the north side? 80-90% voted yes, as I recall. The probationary pilots could not have altered the outcome, even if they voted "no" as a bloc.
In fact, given the lopsided nature of the vote, it's tough to make the argument that anyone got thrown under the bus--

Apparently many of you aren't aware and don't understand the gist of it, because it doesn't affect you. That is understandable.
The MEC has at least acknowledged the longevity issue and it's on the table to be fixed. They chose to focus on the furloughed guys longevity in negotiations and that is totally understandable and I'm glad they did that first. Those guys really got screwed more than anyone in the SLI, we can almost all agree on that.
Regarding the 401k issue, here is the quick run down. Payrates were slightly skewed pre-JCBA for a reason.
- NWA pilots settled for lower pay rates post bankruptcy to hang on to their pension.
- DAL pilots gave up their pension and received slightly higher pay rates post bankruptcy.
When the two groups came together for the JCBA, as part of the agreement they decided to give fDAL pilot's a higher 401k contribution in lieu of having no pension. That's fine, we can all understand that.
The problem with that however was that about 200 fNWA pilots without pensions were grouped in with the fNWA pilots with pensions.
While the disparity has been acknowledged, there is no resolution to try to resolve it. I'm just curious what the new gung ho LEC candidates think about it. There are many issues in our group outside of RJs!

I'm not complaining, I'm past that. I'm trying to get opinions from our prospective LEC leadership.
Give it time, I know that's easy for someone else to say. The new DAL seems focused on doing what is right and taking care of employees. And if the MEC knows, it will get fixed. Let's have some paitence. If not, we all have your back, DAL-S or DAL-N with pensions.
I really hate when we get into bickering matches on this thread. I can only imagine how that comes across to our future potential new hires who might be trolling this site looking for gouge.

Puh-leeze. In my seniority I would have been 800 numbers lower than I am under the 08 "offer", and still 700 lower than DOH. With the limited credit for retirements and the better number I imagine most fNWA pilots faired far better under the arbitration.

It sounds to you like it was worth the lower contract to go to arbitration. In that case, then there should not be complaints about the differences in DC and longevity. It seems like the guy that is complaining got his arbitration and now wants his money too.
I don't want to start a civil war, I just wanted to point out that actions have consequences. Sometimes people like to imagine a consequence free world, but that doesn't exist. Often the webboards are dominated by those who want to ignore the consequences of their actions. The lesson is not important for the past, because it is over. However, as we move on to other decisions it is important for people to understand that pretending your actions are consequence free carries a great deal of risk.

The Delta list was a relative seniority list keeping all pilots within 1/2 percent of their premerger list. Not really sure how that tracks with the aribtrated list with pullouts and categories ect...

Has anyone heard anything about marketing/networking being concerned that they have over estimated the needed block hours for next summer because of the poor summer (and revinue shortfall from it) this year?

It was relative seniority however all of the dc9 positions were stapled to the bottom.
The problem with that however was that about 200 fNWA pilots without pensions were grouped in with the fNWA pilots with pensions.
