I would keep talking. I would keep my contacts open and available in the best way I could. Dino has done a pretty good job in the legislative affairs office, and I would keep that going. He gets access because of the ALPA affiliation. (You think it is in our best interest to chop of that line of communication?) Or do you think that CAPA... or more to the point - the DPA - can get that same level of access? Look, I hate the national politicians with a passion. Bribing them to do their ****ing jobs is as distasteful to me as it would be to see the Gators win the national championship. (I would pull for the Taliban over FU).. But what other choice do we have? You want to close up shop to save a few bucks on dues money? That is a guaranteed loss.
Then, I think we need to do what we need to do. Saving $ by changing horses takes away the ability to pull of an SOS. It isn't even a credible threat. Sometimes the threat, or bark rather, is better than the bite. |

Again, quote where I have ever said that? If you don't know how to use the quote button, I'll help you. Same with your new signature...where did I ever say that? Carl This is close enough for me to call what I saw "a duck".

Regarding the Delta selection process, I've never said there's something "deeply wrong" with it. Just that it must have been interesting to produce the unusually high number of pilots who would never consider striking Delta under any circumstances. Carl |
Carl, what good did the strike do for the pilots of NWA in 1998? Was a better contract the result? No flame here, just curious.

Yes. It got rid of the B scale. Plus, whatever we did in 1998, might have helped us in 2003(??). At a time when the industry was still reeling from 9/11, we managed to get a pay raise. Which was unbelievable to many people, back then. (Ok. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But, that's the way I remember it. :D) |
