I don't know. As Sailing pointed out, there are a lot of things in management's control that they can use to adjust their needs for reserves. We wouldn't like many of those things.
In my view it behooves both parties to negotiate. Look at Narita, it's the biggest pilot base we've never had, with constant re-routes of the 757/767/A330/777/747 crews laying over there, and now, with all the new 48 hour layovers, it's just going to get worse. Basically, as soon as you sign in, you're on short call AND airport standby. |

I had a C period recurrent sim yesterday so I only caught the last quarter of the AU game while sitting in the ATL pilot lounge waiting for my flight home. I knew FSU was going to blow out Duke, but the Auburn game sounded more like a tennis match until the very end.
Then the Ohio/Mich game came on and I had to run to catch my flight home just after it was 10-0 Mich. I was getting text score updates from my wife as I was sitting on the plane waiting to push, and it was 17-17  last I heard, as we were pushing back and I put my pone in airplane mode... When I finally got to my car, just after midnight, for my 90 minute drive home, my wife (FSU grad and AU Mom) texted me; "SUCK IT URBAN!" :D Urban's still got a lot of enemies here in central Florida! Everyone at FSU has always hated him, but now everyone at UF does too! Looking forward to a good game between FSU and Auburn! |
It appears we have 3 candidates for MEC chairman. I honestly do not know much of these gentlemen. Is there a place to view their mission statements or what they stand for? The only person who I have read anything from was a letter that Art A. wrote during contract 2012. I was very impressed because it was not a sales job letter but more of a pros and con. I thought it was a honest approach and very well written. The other two gentlemen, I know nothing about. Who is best to lead this group. My early analysis is AA.

Really glad that OSU lost, but as a man I respect Meyer. He befriended a family who we are friends with here near Pensacola while their son was dealing with brain cancer. He opened his house open to them on numerous occasions when the young man had to go to Gainesville for treatment, invited him to games/practices, gave him the game ball from the Outback Bowl, and traveled to the area to speak at the young man's memorial service.
Looking forward to a good game between FSU and Auburn! |

Actually how would they even cover green slips inside of 10 hours?
In order to guarantee, uninterrupted 10 hours of prospective rest the green slips would have to be assigned earlier. |

Not true, that's the beauty of it.
The first thing we need to do is, define Rest. What is Rest? Is commuting into ATL rest? Is sitting at home on the couch watching Auburn beat Alabama rest? Is sleeping in a black chair in the crew lounge rest? Is tossing and turning in bed, in a noisy hotel room with the maids vacuuming and knocking on the door all day, before you have to fly an all-nigher rest? Is sitting in a business class seat for 3 hours during a noisy meal service, filled with PA's, rest? I think Delta needs to buy out the top 5 floors at the Hilton on Virginia Ave. and put all the crews there for 10 hours prior to every sign in! :D |

If they were orange and white, they'd be OK... but that blue thrown in there just makes it gay. Just as an aside, bUTch Jones, the VOLs new football coach would not allow the football team to be referred to as "Tennessee Football" until they improved significantly from the cellar. Being that this is the 117th year of UT football, so he referred to them as "Team 117". I have been creeped out that both Team 117 and FR 117 are not very good. Coinkidink? |
