I've seen on here several times folks pushing the rumor of 600 hires vs. the 300 that I've read from official company info. I'd LOVE it to be 600... but I have not been able to find any official non-rumor in-writing source saying anything but 300. Where are you getting 600 as the "official" word? Even SD's recent flight ops memos have all said 300 "and this number may change" sort of verbage.

Hoping you or someone can actually point to this in writing--it would be good news if not just a wishful thinking rumor.
Thanks!

Look on the flight ops page of deltanet. On the bottom right corner, you will see a link from the fall base visit. There is a presentation from the crew resource manager who confirms the 600 per year.

The Seahawks look good! The defense looked awesome. I did their charter earlier this year and I can say they looked like a class act.

Congrats, Denny! :D

At one point earlier this year, I couldn't even get out of bed. I think the combination of sitting for long periods and dragging the bag through the terminal is what did it. When I was on the DC9, I think it was the multiple plane changes and dragging the bag. It's like we can't win. Or, at least my back can't.

I wonder how many green slips Carl and Timbo need to do in order to partake in this bit of Douglas awesomeness:

I think Bar just passed out twitching upon seeing that. ;)

Ah. So creative. So mature. What's wrong PD? Can refute the facts?

Damn nice to finally see some forward movement (at least for us junior guys). Been here for 13 years & still mid level 88 FO.

I wonder if that's one of Delta's old DC8's? Did you know that after they put those big motors on them, they would actually put them in reverse in flight, on descent!

I was non-reving in the back of one when on descent the Capt. made a PA to the effect that they were going to reverse the inboards, so don't be alarmed by that sound or the steep deck angle!

Nice find 80K!

Now...if I could just get my 4 kids off my payroll, maybe I could sell my house and buy that to live in! I could never afford to put gas in it, or the mx, but it would be a great bachelor pad, once the wife leaves me!:D

Serious. The other seldom discussed but equally damaging effect is how we sit in the seats.

The FO sits twisted to their left, the captain to the right as we sit on the flight deck for hours in conversation.

Destabilizes the lower back and neck making them more vulnerable to injury.

Again hearsay.

Spreadsheets, documents, published findings?

What you have provided is anecdotal in nature.

Another reason why the old forum was actually useful and served a purpose

It quickly highlighted and drew attention to issues of concern

Try again.
