Most 737's CA (like 99.99%) of them run the APU to start #1 unless the APU is deferred.

Oh. Someone should write a book of all the things Marine Corps pilots have done to upset the Air Force. The stories just get funnier with time. |

I have no idea what's going on. I sure as hell am getting tired of all the runway excursion info in the quarterly CQs though.
Perhaps the 737 fleet just needs high flotation gear and a MDM change. |

How old was that airplane? A week? Maybe two weeks? That's like getting in a wreck with your new car as you leave the dealer's lot. :( |

Maybe didn't know it was slippery until he was on it? I say, "You want the right engine too?" as I'm reaching up for the start selector. He said, "Naw...we'll be fine on one." as he pushed up the power on the left engine. Well the airplane spun hard to the right, and now we are looking right at the tug crew who's eyes are wide open, mouths too...like this:  I look at the Capt. and calmly I say, "OK.... do you want me to start the right one now?":D |

No worries, that'll buff out
More pics and the taxiway diagram...looks like they missed their turn. Damn near knocked the second story of the building off. Accident: British Airways B744 at Johannesburg on Dec 22nd 2013, took wrong taxiway and buried wing in building |

Wow. 19 trips in open time starting tomorrow on ATL88B. 0 Reserves. I really think there's a good chance flights are going to get cancelled due to no crews on the 88. They are splitting trips and doing everything in their power to try and get guys to bite over Christmas. I think not hiring earlier finally bit them. This is at 3 pm the day prior. I can't possibly see how everything gets covered.

Accident: British Airways B744 at Johannesburg on Dec 22nd 2013, took wrong taxiway and buried wing in building I don't ever recall seeing that building down there but I was never on the wrong taxiway (yet), or gone past the turnoff for 3L. I'm going there a few days after Christmas, I'll have to ask for taxiway Mike so I can get a real good look at the newly configured building! Should be plenty of wingtip clearance now, right?:D |
