May 2014 be the year Boomer dons his double-breasted jacket and Jesse is finally set free.

Amen to that! Boomer can't buy a beer for at least a year! I'm paying !

This happens every single year at Christmas. They are never going to staff the airline for the Christmas holiday. If they did it would probably mean management was so incompetent the airline would not be in business long. Every airline contract has mechanisms to allow for surges. The company will get through this week just fine and I would be surprised if any flights get cancelled for a lack of crews. I have seen 25 years of OMG they are going to cancel tons of flights for no crew on a holiday. Somehow it never happens. If you want the holiday off screen your calls and stay home if you held the days off. Works fine lasts a long time!

Looks like at least 13 MD88 flights have been cancelled just today due to no crew. Seems it's a little more than the "Holiday norm". ;)

Let me add to the wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all!

Also to all the Fifi drivers out there. Does anyone remember which of the sims are the better ones for training? Sims 321, 322 or 323? (Tie breaker bidding for training.)

Anyone see the note posted on the ATL CPO office door. I had a friend send me a picture of it. Basically saying that if you are a commuter and at the airport early call crew scheds and they may get you out earlier. Or if you are on a long sit be ready for a call.

That would be a bit more then the norm. I saw a total of 13 no op flights for the day. Can't view the reason codes. All were on the mad dog. Still not seeing any huge manning crises. I did here from a scheduler that more then a few reserves have sicked out of trips after getting a assignment. That is very rare.

GS pay question: I am at about 65 hours for this month and the ALV is 72. If I do a 4 day GS for 20 hours, am I losing any of the 20 hours of the double pay at some point? I know I can use 5 hours of my bank to get close to ALV, I would then be at 70ish. Would 2 hours be at straight pay and then the remaining 18 at double pay?
