Accident: British Airways B744 at Johannesburg on Dec 22nd 2013, took wrong taxiway and buried wing in building
This must have happened at night. I operate in/out of JNB quite often, the taxiways are poorly lit and not marked all that well, like we are used to in the States and Europe. It's much worse when it's dark and raining but I think it was clear that night.

I don't ever recall seeing that building down there but I was never on the wrong taxiway (yet), or gone past the turnoff for 3L. I'm going there a few days after Christmas, I'll have to ask for taxiway Mike so I can get a real good look at the newly configured building!
Should be plenty of wingtip clearance now, right?

This is what I always think is about to happen with that fence on the southeast ramp in DTW.
Was there an RJ painted on the side of the building, that would explain it.

Out of base greenslips are happening now. We should eliminate out of base slips. I don't agree with that. Green slip with conflict is getting closer and closer to those who don't mind working Christmas.

Why are there Marines on US Navy ships........................... so the Navy has someone to dance with.

There's a couple guys in SLC that taxi SE and shut the APU down as soon as you get #2 started, then ask you to do a cross-bleed start. Of course they are ALSO the ones that say, "No, let's wait until there are only 3 ahead of us to start... and wait until that 3rd one is actually rolling." Leaving you rushed and behind.
Both of them are, of course, LCA. There's no-one as non-standard and risk-accepting as an LCA, in my experience.

Any video of it being pushed back for building wing removal?

I remember crossbleed was a bit of a pain on the 737. It was exceedingly rare to fly with someone that did that.

I think these excursions are just proving we should have gotten the 321 and none of the extendo-flufs. Crossbleed on those is even easier than it is on the 757.

No reserves at DL? I'll gladly quit being a RJ pilot to be a DL reserve

Just out of curiosity, did you, at any time, tell them "Hey I'm feeling rushed and behind, do you mind if we crank it up now?"

I don't mean to be a tool about it, but the reason these guys do this is because there's no push back.
