It says this under flight status. There will be a lot more.
It's not just 88B. Looks like there's a chance for an epic crew scheduling melt-down over the next couple of days. There are a whole lot of categories with lots of trips to cover and 0 reserves available. With snow in NYC and DTW, -14 temps in MSP, the northern tier is going to need some luck and appropriate thinning on a very busy travel day. If they aren't careful this will cascade.

Two words.....Holiday Pay.

Would solve a lot of these scheduling issues every Christmas/Thanksgiving/New Years/4th July.

Think about how much we saved in staffing costs. Wow, guess Alaska didn't want to be bought, so much for synergies and being overstaffed again. Glad we saw this coming.

Looks like Alaska is having some cancellations as well. Theirs are due to "sick" pilots/flight attendants though http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-no...ghts_afte.html

I'm not sure it would.

They're already out of GS in several categories and going into IA. That means to me that those that would have volunteered to fly for Holiday Pay are already used up.

Agree. Do you think NWA will go back to fDAL staffing formulas?

Got a newbie question for ya, is there an entity at ALPA that monitors all these cancellations and gathers data to engage the company? This sounds like some great ammo to engage the company for some of the gains we want.

I'm not sure whether it work or not but right now the incentive to bid to fly on Christmas is zilch. I wonder how many more would bid to fly over Christmas when they put their bid in November if they knew it was premium pay?

Besides Christmas is hard to hold off and the pool of GSers has to be a small portion of that group.

Idk but next year nobody gets Christmas off or we bring back the DC9.
