Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Wow, that's a pretty short runway for that elevation! I'm wondering what their approach speed might have been (140?), and then correct that to true airspeed at 8000', then add the 30 knot tailwind. I'm guessing their groundspeed was around 200? Trying to land on 7000'?? :eek:

Even if they did everything right, that was going to be tight.

Have a good trip back. I hope you packed your long johns, it's going to be very cold when you get home.

What about his guy? Could he land 15 with a 30 kt tailwind and takeoff on 15, lose an engine and keep going?

Never flew it but as I recall it landed and took off on a aircraft carrier.

Anyone know if you can be awarded a spill pairing white slip that would be under the max pick up for the current bid period, but would put you over the next bid period?

For example: If my max pick up is 10:00 in JAN and 0:00 in FEB, could I be awarded a 16 hour 3 day that has 9:00 in JAN and 7:00 in FEB?

So, does it look at both bid periods, or just the current?

Funny how Telluride doesn't seem to cause that many problems. It has a lot of the same challenges and is quite a bit higher. With a shorter runway. :eek:

That's what we said about the last one! I think the 117 negotiations will be telling. We all know what the leverage is. Today it was announced that DL was named ATW's Airline Of The Year. That's a pretty big accolade, and one that no U.S. airline has been given in a decade.

No, you're right. I was referring to having flown to any of those places and then being taken off the acceptable donor list here in the US.... Remember Buzz is a wordsmith. The fault was probably mine. :D
