Just sux for the Broncos..a blowout like that refutes the record setting season they had. I guess Manning did set a Super Bowl record for the most completions..unfortunately 3 of them were to the Seahawks. As a lifelong Bronco fan having grown up in Colorado with the Orange Crush, it would have been better to lose to the Pats and regroup for next year. Now, all I can hope for is plenty of TV coverage of the Seahawks returning to Seattle on a Delta 76.. Rant over..I need to go find a happy place. |

That's a bold claim.
If you have a specific allegation to make, I would immediately call your local representative so it can be addressed. If you can't get satisfaction from him, then call another. Nu Didn't they go to Paris, too? What's the final FPL tally and beer tab from that boondoggle? Sounds pretty cushy to me. Not to mention, a complete waste of our dues money. |

Not that I've observed. Do you have an example?
Look, any bureaucracy will have graft and abuse. DALPA is no exception. When insiders huff and puff about how it could never happen, that's insulting, and, frankly, disingenuous. Here's what I'd like to hear. "yes, there have been instances where we've exhibited poor stewardship of your money. Let's start with the "special committee" which, several months ago, had racked up $60k some-odd in FPL to pay guys to jet around the system to drink, buy beer, and spread the DALPA gospel...on our dime.

If you're convinced that the information campaign was a waste, did you contact your reps to let them know? They (collectively the MEC) were the ones that authorized the actions of said committee. 2. There's nothing cushy about sitting in the lobby of a hotel passing out information for 8-10 hours at a crack. If your idea of cushy is having the occasional pilot take cheap shots at you - when you had nothing to do with his particular pet issue - then maybe you're onto something  The best part is having to maintain a pleasant demeanor even when the guy is getting personal and calling you every name in the book. Quite the cushy gig... Btw, not to diminish the value of $60k (your number, first I've heard of it), but that comes out to about $5ish/pilot. I only mention that to keep in perspective how large of an organization we're talking about here. Like I said, I don't think the Paris trip ever happened, but if it did, you're getting a deal for $5/pilot. I know it's unpopular on this forum to suggest volunteerism, but if you're so convinced it's a cushy deal, then I suggest you try it out sometime. You might join the rest who have done a little ALPA work in realizing that it's a thankless job - not the coveted seagull refuge that you make it out to be. |

**Disclaimer** I have nothing to do with DW's business other than being a fan of his work **Disclaimer**
I just ordered a calendar and T-shirt from DogWhisperer for my Dad's bday (retired airline guy.) The calendar is great and the shirt is cool too - just the right amount of aviation reference without being TOTD material. If you're looking for a cheap, funny gift I highly recommend it. Alot of the references in the cartoons are Delta-centric, but they're generic enough to be funny to any airline pilot: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cockp...17185745022419 |
A well done video to watch for those waiting on their next flight (go full screen).
