And all but 10 are smaller than the airplanes they are replacing.

Here is the latest retirement schedule. Subject to change of course.
2014- 14 757
2015- 15 757
2016- 13 757
2017- 22 757 4-767

Over the next 4 years we lose 64 757 and 4 767 airframes. In addition we retired 16 757 airframes in 2013. No other aircraft types were listed for retirement. We should gain around 205 airframes over that period. Net gain 135 plus airframes.

There is a chance 10 of those airframes could stay depending on a charter contract.
While I am all for a net gain of aircraft, it sure would be nicer if they paid anywhere near the same as the primary aircraft it is replacing. The 757/767.

And in 3, 2, 1, T will be here with his LBP.

74 airframes are leaving. 64 of those will be replaced by aircraft paying about 2.5 percent less. The remaining growth airframes pay 100 percent more then those they are replacing since they are growth. A widebody RFP will be put out by the company in the fall.

Hopefully they remain growth.

I'm hearing a 787/350 fly off with a "large" order to whoever wins.

Given how sexy the 350 looks, how big it is, and the 787's propensity to catch on fire (with lord knows what other engineering deficiencies that haven't been "discovered" yet)... I'm hoping for the 350.

Hope you are right about the RFP. But, like I said, the replacements pay less. Not bueno.

Agree. 350 looks sharp. But, it hasn't been in the air enough at this point in its life to determine if it's a pyros dream or not. Hope it isn't.

And, now for a break, a little history of rap. You're welcome.
