people have gotten a bit robotic and anal around here. Can't help it if people go all robotic anal because of it.

I blame Home Depot.

Maybe all those 717s, 737, A321s and A330s aren't really coming.
So again, Delta decides to go all A350 on us and not take the 788s, are they not allowed to make such a change in say 2018 because they made an SEC filing in 2012 saying they had 787 commitments?

Or should I just actually read what Delta says in the 8-K you posted...

This presentation contains various projections and other forward-looking statements which represent Delta’s estimates or expectations regarding future events. All forward-looking statements involve a number of assumptions, risks and uncertainties, many of which are beyond Delta’s control, that could cause the actual results to differ materially from the projected results. Factors which could cause such differences include, without limitation, business, economic, competitive, industry, regulatory, market and financial uncertainties and contingencies, as well as the “Risk Factors” discussed in the Delta’s SEC filings. Caution should be taken not to place undue reliance on Delta’s forward-looking statements, which represent Delta’s views only as of the date of this presentation, and which Delta has no current intention to update.

Are you serious????? SOPA SMAC fan are you? I understand sterile cockpit procedures but do you really think the Feds would care if you added a few info things to a PA? Like, "We're #4 for T/O, it's an hour and a half to XXX, we should be on time, it's clear and 70 degrees, since it's late, we won't bother you with any PA's. F/A's please prepare the cabin for T/O. Use a little judgment and common sense.........

Cultural difference, imo. One airline didn't take everything written down (and much isn't written down!) completely literal and the other hung on every word and process EXACTLY. We seem to be slipping towards the rigid, verbatim way a little

Reminds me of a Kinks lyric, "Paranoia the Destroyer" The FAA, F/A's, rampers, mechanics, other pilots, CP guys and Mother Delta et al aren't trying to get you.

This Delta's way of opposing the pre clearance facility? Just don't clear customs, ha!

Ed,

I'm a little junior to you and on the 320 in SLC. On the 320 with your seniority you will get 5-day trips and they are next to impossible to dump or get rid of on the swap board. My lines consist of mostly 5-days or 30 hour layover 3 days. I attempt to do the same thing you are trying and have better luck bidding reserve then personal dropping reserve days than I do dumping the trips I get.

The forthcoming fine will probably take a healthy bite out of the 14Q1 profit!

CBP doesn't take anything lightly... Ouch.

Still funny as hell, IMHO. A little ironic that LHR doesn't have Pre-Clearance and Abu Dhabi does....
