They absolutely will do that. Our primary counter arguement to any allegation of unproductivity should be their hyper eclectic fleet plan and giving marketing a blank check to trash each fleet's productivity intentionally in order to make a penny more revenue per year. That is the issue, not our work rules. They want every fleet to fly to every city pnce per day with everyone doing extended sits and layovers, then they complain about our productivity. We need stronger rigs to drive them to utilize us more producctively within existing very generous work rule parameters.
That said, buddy bidding to get the month off or to get triple pay for being the victim of your own honored bidding preferences is not going to be a very effective martyr card to play going forward.

For once I agree with Purple. There is no need to even begin entertaining giving this up. Someone posted a few pages back that we go it in return for giving them 12 month seat locks on new-hires. It was done outside of Section 6. I was surprised as hell that they gave it up so easily, but I see NO reason to give it back.
Btw, I have never had a trip bought off for OE, nor am I senior enough in category to reliably "martyr" myself with PBS...

Even though it doesn't affect me as a Captain, we shouldn't be giving up F/O recovery. I thought we just fought to regain that. What is this "door" pay anyway? Syart the clock when shutting the door? I'm all for that, not at a reduced rate though.
BYOD update The number of consolidated BYOD subscribers with eligible devices is now 3,107. Approximately 2,500 have installed Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro and the AirWatch Secure Content Locker. The next step is determining how many of these pilots will switch to a Surface 2 tablet. The key dates for the BYOD group are:
March 10: Email will go out to all BYOD subscribers with a survey link for selecting which tablet they will use for the FAA validation - iPad or Surface.
March 21: Enrollment for the BYOD program closes. Pilots enrolling from March 10-21 will receive individual surveys.
March 31: BYOD tablet selection survey closes. Any BYOD pilot not responding to the survey will be removed from the BYOD program and will be added to the Surface 2 validation group.

I think I'll be using the surface. So far I like Jepp FD Pro. My beef is I need to brighten the screen on my ipad to see well in the sunlight. This uses more battery power. My ipad battery is low by the end of the day. I like to use the ipad on a layover, not wait for it to charge.
It sure is nice to flip though charts on the screen. So much easier than digging in the chart kit. You can highlight your route and make notes on the screen. A little birdie told me the gps on the ipad works quite well on the 10-9 chart. This same birdie was able to use the GPS on the enroute chart as well. Naughty birdie!
Any one remember how ALPA said that Contract 2012 was going to make Delta Pilots paid more than SWA pilots? Well, looks like SWA management hired a new VP of HR, RANDY BABBITT! He has constructed a website to tell the SWA employees how over paid they are.... SWATogether Check out the video too!
Also, remember all those fancy charts that ALPA put out showing our total compensation exceeding SWA? Now, take a look at Randy's fancy charts and graphs for the SWA pilots! Pilots | Employees | SWATogether
Looks like SWA pilots exceeded Delta in EVERY single category of compensation!!!
Things that make you go HMMMM!

Agreed, we should not be giving any Capt or F/O OE recovery up.

Door pay could be really important down the road. The FARs haven't changed, operators abilty to monitor forward movement under own power has. It started with the 777 and the EMB-145. All new [certified] airplanes since have been installed with wheel speed sensors [that can be recorded via the AirInc 429 bus.] This is not NEW - my previous carrier tried to do this is in 2003/04 but we stopped them with door pay and protections of recorded data.

I'm excited, their whole contract is there to look at, but honestly, my expectations are well managed at this point and I don't expect much. maybe t/c.

Unfortunately, guys like tsquare will gladly give up recovery, scope, and pretty much anything else affecting F/Os (and themselves--but they can't be convinced of that) if it means they can get a couple more bucks an hour.
