Jim Gasik. SLC Chief pilot a few years ago. Been fighting brain cancer for a couple years.

Sad to hear. Do you know if it was glioblastoma? I never met Jim but I've had two close friends, also Delta Pilots, who died of that in the past 3 years.

It's supposed to be 'rare' but I've heard of a lot of pilots getting it. It's survival rate is only 3%.

I think it says in crew staffing newsletter will be flown by ATL and DTW crews. No west coast 717 base. They will also be doing DTW-AUS, so just keep going to LAX up the coast and back and you have your rotation. Sounds like a nice trip.
