According to Donatelli at the NYC LEC meeting, they are very close to wrapping up the 117 negotiations. From what I've heard from talking to some reps is that it's kinda hard to negotiate with the company when the comapany doesn't want to negotiate.

One thing that was said in the meeting was that (I think I got the numbers right,) the historical number of GSs in Jan-Mar was 500, but for Jan-Mar 2014, we were up to 5500. That finally got the company's attention and motivated them to start talking.

Doubtful that 117 relief would've prevented the dramatic increase in GS periods. Heard just a few days ago that there have only been around 50 instances (since January 1!) system wide of PDs "given" to pilots for not following the SD memo. I wouldn't consider that leverage.

If we are truly getting close to an agreement it's because there's not much in it for us. History bears this out.

Well, turn up the heat on the company, then! Good grief! SD thinks he can unilaterally change the contract with a memo.

Perhaps a memo from "our" "union" reminding us how green slips and green slips with conflict work--and how to utilize them to generate max leverage--might be in order.

Before someone pops off about "status quo:" how is SD's extra-contractual memo even remotely in line with "status quo?"

GS and GSWC are both permissible contractually.

Time to ratchet up the pressure, and let the company know what's in store for C16 if they think dragging their feet is the way to go.

I had this about a year ago. Some sort of problem finding the ticket # with AA. I called our travel line: 1-800-MY-DELTA. They found it and were able to process the refund with min hassle.

Follow the prompts to get a live person and they should be able to hook you up pretty easily.

We are also still under a federal judges order regarding how we fly overtime and GSWC in particular.

I'm curious about what the federal judge would think of SD's memo. I'm sure we'll never find out.

Part 117 question: Is the 100 hours in 28 days based on Zulu time or Local base time? Thx

Denny

Edit: Think I might have answered my own question. The 117 limit is 100 hours flight time in 672 hours. So it would be a rolling 672 hours so zulu or local wouldn't matter.....?

Not a big deal to have to the CPO over it, and the resulting PD put on my sched. Losing the money is even ok for a time or two...but that's about it. Why doesn't our union use some contigency money to help the Junior guys at least offset some of the loss. Most, not all, but most reserve guys are Junior and it seems the leverage we have is being borne out by a small group of guys.
Any ideas?

After looking at the Assignment/Green slip Report for March 2014 on the Dalpa scheuling committee page, I believe that 5500 is based on "duty periods" not total number of green slips. It looks like the average number of green slip/assignment duty periods per month for 3 months is 4900...That's still quite a few.
