Dude....., I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you agree "that came out wrong." Otherwise, pretty douchey.

As far as the 117 talks... I spoke to the ALPA communications guy tonight at the PUB event. He said there was a big announcement next week, then intimated that some people won't be happy. When pressed, he wouldn't say if the unhappy people would be the reserve holders of the world, or the I am never happy crowd. It did seem like the former rather than the latter.

Keep your expectations low, and you'll never (well almost ever) be disappointed.

I've spoken to a rep twice in the last few months and from what I've gathered, the 117 agreement is going to mostly include language that improves reserve QOL. The issues between our contract and 117 mostly affect reserves, so that's who they're trying to help, for the most part.

I'd love to see a pay raise across the board, but I don't think that is on the table.
Expect: 16-18 hour LC leash with acknowledgement so 10 hour rest can happen.
Possibly small increase in ADC or pay for vacation day.

There were a few other little things they were trying to get but mostly, I think this agreement is going to be targeted towards reserve QOL. If you are a senior person in category, don't expect any improvements in your QOL. The people expecting a raise from this LOA are the ones who aren't going to be happy

I haven't talked to anyone "in the know" recently so I have no inside knowledge of what this agreement might contain, just the sense of what they were working on getting in return for the changes required to our contract.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm not expecting any across the board improvements.

[QUOTE=Scoop;1643358]You are not the first and won't be the last. One month when I wanted Saturdays off I bid "Prefer" duty on Saturday instead of "Avoid." Unfortunately my bid was 'honored" every weekend. :p The good point of this story is that the rest of my qualifiers were able to at least have me fly descent trips over the weekend.

Got to go make sure my house is not on fire, for those who don't live in SOCAL, San Diego county is pretty much on fire.

Scoop

Yes it is very bad.. I live in SoCal and have been close to being evacuated a few times through the years. I have family very close to the Poinsettia fire/Carlsbad. Hope your family and home are safe.

I have heard the company wants illegal overights, leans, CDO's, or whatever you want to call them. Usually when I hear something, it's almost a done deal sadly.

Flying to SD tomorrow, think it will go?

They add up. Each one is 1/18 of your paycheck on reserve. For me, one PD is almost $600. They add up quick, especially if they are forced on our pilots. There's a reason why most of our pilots are not participating. It's a lot of money to gamble with that you may or may not get back.

This would not surprise me. There were a lot of guys back when fNWA did these that lived off them. They went pretty senior. Depending on the city pair they can be a pretty good deal or really crappy. MSP to RST was good, MSP to PHL was bad.

I would probably bid some but not sure I could hold them.

Thank you for your support and the free dose of arrogance.

Thankfully, I don't need a loan for the two PDs. That's not really the point.

There are some folks for whatever reason who might.

Where is DALPA for backup? How about some support for the hostages? A little backbone in return for taking it for the team?

(P.s. a tepid letter from MD telling us that RA "cares" about us is not "support" and it's certainly not "backbone.")

Hostages? A little dramatic, aren't we?

You're obviously not seeing the big picture here.
I doubt any of the guys who have stood up for our contractual rights need a loan.
But they've done something that took a certain amount of guts and is symbolically very important.

All the Delta pilots banding together through our union and offering to make them whole financially would be a pretty strong statement. The amount is not important. (although it can add up pretty fast if they hit you more than once) Its about standing together, speaking with one voice and telling management we're not going to let you shred our contract.

DALPA likes to send out messages about unity and solidarity but their focus seems to be misplaced. They are still obsessed with the DPA. So far they aren't willing to direct any of that unity and solidarity into any actions that might upset management.

Purple Drank : I salute you sir. Thanks for stepping up to defend our contract.

By bid was as screwed up coming out of PBS as it was going into PBS. :D
