This right here^^^ What we SHOULD be doing is eliminating the 2 man availability of the company to schedule trips like LIM and DUB...

Uphill- both ways.

Our entire industry is risk management and the cost of something vs. the safety of doing it.

I asked about it and it looks like LC changes with the LOA to no acknowledgement required (with some nuances of course). That is way better!

I heard the same rumor. No more trip acknowledgement at all.
Studying the 117 language and comments now to see if that would be legal.
My first inclination was "that can't be", but so far I don't see why not.

80 said it was better. Not me.
I'm still piecing together how it might work.
The FAA "interpretations" I've looked at so far don't seem to require any acknowledgement of flight duty assignments in the long call reserve scenario. You just have to have the prospective rest opportunity.

Okay, for those as dense as me... How would that work for a trip assignment or short call assignment?

Because it removes the leash of 10 hr acknowledgement and the subsequent PD that they have been doing to guys that didn't do it in time.
