You are thinking of the advanced Academy. The one where it took us 6 weeks to do what it took the other academy guys 4 years to do.

I like to refer to my time there as 42 days of heck with no beer until the first Friday night.

Fwiw, the new hires and flow ups that are coming to the 717 have been exceptionally strong. They have great skills and even have read the FOM more than once. I've been impressed. DAL has been hiring top quality pilots at front of the wave.

I used to refer to my time at AMS in TYS as, "6 weeks of marching in circles, trying to learn how to salute!" :D

I had a great time there in spite of all the bed making and underwear folding classes.

Of course it was in May, warm weather, and I had a girlfriend from the UT who would show up with a cooler full of refreshments, and sneak me off base to a local lake beach park.

Ahhh....good times!

When I showed up for UPT at Del Rio in June, our "Class Leader" had just come out of Sky Blue U.

I looked at him and said,

"You mean it took you FOUR YEARS to learn what I learned in 6 weeks?? What, are you guys at the Zoo slow learners??" :eek::D

That was some sh!t last night wasn't it? Seemed about every 4th pick was from Auburn! The part I liked the most was when Dallas passed on Johnny Football! :eek:
