The look on that tools face was priceless!

You got a gif of that yet?

Oh, and the Bruins won in OT! A great night all around.

This is a total imho, but while football coaches still think the NFL is about football, it's about entertainment. If it was about football they'd done these coaches a favor and had the draft right after the combine and not in May. They wouldn't play but on Sunday at 1pm and 4pm, not 8pm, Thursday night and supposedly Saturday night is coming.

The entertainment value of JFF at Dallas would have made the sports world explode. $$$. And can anyone be more cowboyish than JFF who is from Texas after all? If he does well in Cleveland and Romo continues to have a Romo season, Dallas will never live it down.

I didn't like the kid either but that Duke game was fun to watch and I thought he handled himself since football ended better than I expected.

Can someone explain to me what the deal with Delta and Alaska is? Why are they so mad at each other?

The managements, the pilots, or APC?

Management: Because Alaska is willing to participate in an alliance, but proved unwilling and unable to commit to an expansion plan, as they want to frolic with multiple partners, in one-sided relationships. Then because Alaska management went out of their way to diss Delta in the investment community.

The pilots: they're not mad at Alaska pilots, per se. I think it's fair to say we feel that we're not getting as much flying/growth out of the codeshare, as we should have. We want a better arrangement. As far as I know, we don't have any institutionalized ill-will towards the pilots.

APC: A few back-and-forth exchanges don't make people mad. I don't know of one APC poster that's truly mad at another, across the DAL-ALK line anyway. A little banter, a little butt-hurt here and there, but no hard feelings AFAIK.

They probably do hate me though. :D Look more at the RNP to JNU thread.

But I mean if you think flying into Juno is like climbing Mt Everest and flying in the rest of the world is like climbing Stone Mountain... http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...f/FACEPALM.gif I mean there is probably not a 737 crew flying into Latin America that wouldn't rather be flying into JNU in the fog.

Hate is such a strong word, you know. Mispellings of cities is so common.

You're just factualizing and illustratizing, that's all. Who could hate you for that?

There seem to be a lot of answers out there to these questions both ways.

Indeed. The only answer I would trust is the one from (800) USA-ALPA.

If you ask me they misspell it. Juno is so much easier to spell.

Blame this guy!

Juneau is named after gold prospector Joe Juneau, though the place was for a time called Rockwell and then Harrisburg (after Juneau's co-prospector, Richard Harris). The Tlingit name of the town is Dzántik'i Héeni ("Base of the Flounder’s River", dzánti ‘flounder’, –kʼi ‘base’, héen ‘river’), and Auke Bay just north of Juneau proper is called Áak'w ("Little lake", áa ‘lake’, -kʼ ‘diminutive’) in Tlingit. The Taku River, just south of Juneau, was named after the cold t'aakh wind, which occasionally blows down from the mountains.

I'm going old school, with the Tlingit name: Dzantik'i Heeni. :D

In my 17 years of commercial flying the pilots I've flown with or trained with have come from a widely varied background. From part 91 corporate flying to part135 freight to being an LCA/PCA at a regional. It has been my experience that of those highly skilled aviators I have had the privilege to interact with they DO NOT all share a common background. Being a highly competent pilot does not depend on college degree or not, military training or not, it depends on the individual's aptitude only. I've been impressed and unimpressed by the performance of pilots with both types of backgrounds. Not to diminish someone's monumental achievement of graduating 1st in class at Annapolis but I think it is insulting to everyone else who has passed the DAL interview process to insinuate that he is somehow better than them. The airline will survive without one guy. IMHO. Sorry but that post got under my skin.
