Stupid question? Could there be a class action lawsuit against Alpa National for their continuing support of regional pilot groups which directly compete with our jobs, pay and benefits, and quality of life -- and as history has shown, have had increases in jobs, pay and benefits, and quality of life, while the mainline pilots lossed in all of these areas?
It sounds to me that Alpa failed to take care of #1. And #1 is angry. Why do you suggest we sue ALPA National? Really, what have they got to do with this? It is a serious question and I hope that you will respond and educate me with your point of view. |

It sounds to me that Alpa failed to take care of #1. And #1 is angry. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty interested myself. I'm not interested in ousting ALPA, but they screwed the pooch on representing non WO regional pilot groups. I don't understand how they can enhance & protect our careers while simultaneously doing the same for a pilot group who fly aircraft that we have a payscale for. I hope Behnke's coffin is buried tight, because I think he's been rolling over in it for years. |
Its interesting to me that this move was made under the guise of protection from litigation and conflict of interest. With CPS under DALPA, who could file a lawsuit? Once given their own MEC, resolutions and lawsuits are a possibility that didn't exist before.
Hell, even with the support of many Delta pilots CPS couldn't enact change under DALPA. But now they can, and that's scary. |

ACL,
I agree. I think RA is too smart to outsource the 100 seater. He knows the massive waves it would cause, & if he wants to improve the DAL product then outsourcing 100 seaters to DCI would be a HUGE mistake. |

I think we will get the 100 seat jet, but it does not mean that they will not put on a good show.

RA talks a great game, but talk is cheap, what do his actions say? Time will tell, but if you ask me the jury is still out on RA. Scoop |
The only reason I can see us doing this, is that we cannot represent someone or a group that we are promoting getting downsized, with scope restoration et al.
Problem with that is that almost 1/2 of the MEC disagreed. |

Roosevelt's speech on December 8, 1941 ... Yeah, so Japan attacked a little island in the pacific. Who cares? It was a Seagull crap crusted volcanic hell hole that no one wants anyway. Let Hirohito have it. There were not many Americans on that Island and the ones that were there look a lot like Japanese to me anyway. I mean even if they take Catalina, or the Germans take Sannibel, or Alaska, who cares? You can't see it from my house... . |

The closest to a rational explanation has been provided by Alpha, Slowplay and others who simply point out the 76 seat labor market is so ugly that we really don't want to be in it. I can see the merit in those economic arguments and will argue back that the politics of divisiveness almost always has an economic basis in fact. |
Did anyone see an agenda published for this MEC meeting in DCA, also since RA was there does anyone know if he weighed in on the Compass discussion?
