Definitely increases green slip opportunity.

Previous system, 16 hour prior trip in open time...likely green slip.

TA 12 hours prior, plus the mandate that trips have to go they the coverage process. Green slip city.

raise a glass tonight and congratulate yourselves.

This was a very good day for the Delta pilots.

I'm not sure if I keep my head in the sand or what. I hadn't heard anything about the 'TA' until I saw it here. When I contacted my Rep he asked if I read the email..."WHAT Email?" But two phone calls later and a few texts...."CDO's are Gone - Still want Memrat?"

Again - NICE Going!!

Baja.

So what do we have now? The TA exactly as it was except without CDO's?

apparently the 13 hour LC leash was changed to 12.

not sure if it's still the "acknowledge/passive" version or if it's SD's two hour "fantasy leash" (if I may steal your apropos term)..

haven't seen/heard any further details.

Did the company just throw the CDO thing in as a red herring?

I was wondering the same thing. Could it be that we are kinda like the young chap in this GEIKO commercial?

Redirecting - Anyone else hearing any DAL HAL Merger rumors? A couple birdies dropped me a call today and said it being talked about in ATL.

Baja.

To be fair, and I'm no koolaid drinking apologist, but the negotiating committee, via a resolution was directed to ask for SDP/cdo/illegals. They just did what the MEC directed.

The fact that this was an MEC pushed resolution without first polling the pilot group was the mistake.

Scambo, thanks for the clarification, but I still feel like the fact that this thing got as far as it did is disturbing. No polling, just a gushing e-mail from the MEC chairman last week telling us what a great deal the TA was. I expect more heading into contract negotiations while working for a highly profitable, well run airline.

After we made it known the SDP's were unacceptable the union listened and was able in the end to come away with a good deal without them. Well done!

I give credit to the union LEC reps for listening to their pilots and demanding changes to the TA before it was voted on. Also, the NC did a good job as they went back to the company and getting them to agree to take the SDP out.

My grief is with those in the union (who I don't know, or even what positions) who took the "we don't like 30 hour layovers" and turned that into "the pilots want SDPs". They managed to take a part of the job (30 hour layovers) that was mildly annoying to people and replace it with (in my opinion) something that was extremely disliked and unsafe.

Those who thought SDP were "no big deal" were probably thinking of the DTW-FNT or DTW-TVC which were very short, easily under 45 minutes block time on either side. The TA had 2 to 2:15 hour flight segments on either end - a completely different animal.

Here's what about a 2 hour range from ATL looks like (750 nm):

I can't see the excitement of flying ATL-LGA-ATL SDP along with making your way to and from the hotels for your break at the LGA Airport hotel. While you might say, "nah, won't happen" the TA gave the company the flexibility to do a lot. Perhaps the company needs it or figured they should get what they could while we were giving up SDP.

Also, the excellent management we have now may not be there in 5 or 10 years. I want protections in good times so that we don't have to fight for it when times get bad.

Yeah, MD showed his true stripes by supporting that TA with CDO's in it. If we don't make some major changes, I think 2015 does not bode well for us. Restoration? Fogetaboutit with this bunch running the show.

Purple's info is good.
We had to give back one hour on the leash.
It is still the "no acknowledgement" system.

Negotiator Notepad with details should be out soon.
Except Scrappy is probably having a beer. (or two). I would be if I was him.
