Starting a new thread is, well, starting a new thread.
He wanted to call people out after his earlier responses within the thread did not get enough traction, even with words like "ashamed" used. I just had no idea why he took offense to straight up non political background information being posted. In a debate of the facts, the resolution was factually relevant. Some are wanting to hang reps for doing what we apparently told them to do. I think a little restraint is in order until we see what happens here. I'm thinking (if the interwebz are any indication) this LOA gets postponed or some how administratively delayed while communications take place.

What? Why? Carl |

So 15 guys at a local council meeting can put SDPs on the menu and it becomes the will of an 11500+ pilot group? Our system is severely broken.
I'm actually going to start agreeing with Pineapple Guy........commuters are bad guys. We don't attend LEC meetings, we just show up to fly and then go home. Everyone needs to move to base and we should have to attend X numbers of meetings to be members in good standing. OK, a little rash.....but hopefully you see my point. As an example, my college fraternity had a similar rule......you had to attend X number of weekly meetings a month or you weren't welcome at the parties. Harsh but effective:D |
Don't ever, ever, ring the bell...

I've done several months worth of CDOs at Compass. They sucked then, and I say that as someone who flew them in his 20s, who is a night owl and has always been able to sleep on command. I found myself flying into MSP a few times with the sun coming up and me slapping myself to stay awake, praying to God that the weather and mx stayed ok. The CAs I flew them with, and the FOs I flew them with after I upgraded, were either too junior to hold anything else, or had kids or businesses on the side that took up their time during the day. One of them would later die in a road accident the day after a string of CDOs; it's believed he fell asleep at the wheel I flew them at Pinnacle. Many times arriving at the crashpad having no memory of the approach or landing. These things are UNSAFE. Would we even be having this discussion if they were restricted to the TOP 10% of the list, instead of the bottom 10% of the NB Categories? One another Gem Pinnacle Management attempted to force down our throats.....tagging and out/back after the return leg to base. Think about THAT. If you don't think DAL would do it you are living in a fantasy land. As long as it's under the 14 hour limit standby for a reroute. I won't friggen do it. PERIOD. Even if it meant no longer working at DAL. There are other things out there that pay more and won't kill you. |

Little birdie says SDP's dropped from TA, 12-hour leash instead of 13 hours.
That's a fast birdie... |
At the meeting. Open session.
Split Duty Periods removed from the agreement completely. ADG 5:15 remains. LC from 13 to 12. A few reps are still pandering by pushing for memrat. Text your reps now to tell them we no longer need memrat. This deal is now a huge gain for us with nearly NO give. Excellent job by the MEC sticking up for the pilot group. |
