An angry and well represented group carries a lot of clout.....because they actually show up to city council meetings, call their reps/congressmen on a regular basis etc.......and they vote.

I'm actually going to start agreeing with Pineapple Guy........commuters are bad guys. We don't attend LEC meetings, we just show up to fly and then go home. Everyone needs to move to base and we should have to attend X numbers of meetings to be members in good standing.

OK, a little rash.....but hopefully you see my point. As an example, my college fraternity had a similar rule......you had to attend X number of weekly meetings a month or you weren't welcome at the parties. Harsh but effective:D

All of the above, 12-15 people submitting resolutions....be nice if we could vote on these resolutions on the net for each individual LEC

OK, which acronym should we forget first? I hate "SDP". CDO is right out.

Illegals works. So does "the heinous trips that shall never, ever be mentioned again"...

I like that one but don't you think it's a little long for an acronym? ;)

Lots of things in a representation type of body are driven by very vocal and angry minorities. When the rest of us wake up to what has happened our choices are limited. Our choice today is to text your rep for memrat or a delay to get more member input.......in other words, we become the angry vocal body.

The CODs (I think we need to call them what they are going to be called - SDP) don't effect me and I'll vote with you guys if given a chance, but here is why they strike me as "odd" and not for us. No, I don't think they are anymore unsafe that a lot of the other crazy back of the clock stuff we do......But........we all worked hard to get to "the majors". I like Delta (better than NWA) because it's a classier act. The company wants the efficiencies that NWA or RJ world has as we pick up more and more of the old RJ type flying, fair enough........but no. That's not who we are, we're older and have paid our dues.

At the majors, there's a dress code (name the movie reference for a beer - think baseball)

Excellent synopsis!

I'm think the trips would feel that long, so it probably fits ;)

In a debate of the facts, the resolution was factually relevant.

Some are wanting to hang reps for doing what we apparently told them to do. I think a little restraint is in order until we see what happens here. I'm thinking (if the interwebz are any indication) this LOA gets postponed or some how administratively delayed while communications take place.

Since I don't know who you are I don't know if you talked to KW on the forum he posted on. If not you came to the anonymous web board and lobbed a grenade. Since you have questions for him, talk to him where he can answer you. Looks to me like you called him out where he couldn't reply.

For all intents and purposes we just had membership ratification.
Better than that actually.

The membership just modified a TA and fixed what was wrong with it on the fly in real time.

We better write this down...

Doesn't take effect until November. No need to rush.

Bar,

That is a poor drive by attempt at best and you know it. I am sure since you read that post you must have read the whole thread that it was based on. Basically the same argument was being made on that forum as was on here about CDOs good or bad. Then it turned into a North South thing, something you are familiar with. Ken basically is saying that yes it was passed at the C20 LEC but it was passed also by the entire MEC. So at that point it is a DALPA issue not just a local LEC issue…but you knew that.

I would say there are a lot of guys you can go after but at least for former NWA guys Ken is not one of them.

I thought the same thing. Put the resolutions out a week ahead of time. Have a week long window to vote. People who come to the meeting can vote there - voting closes during the meeting. Announce results there. Democracy in action.
