Funny how we all read or hear whats important to us. Cheaptrick read an alpa attack and thats what he is discussing. I read a failure of crm and in particular the infamous "senior rank quelling of timely concerns" problem we address in usaf flights so much, and thats what i'm responding to. I didnt even hear or notice anything about alpa, just the point that a crew extension concern or rejection was not immediately honored. Then the compounding crm cultural problem of ct attacking the victim as not manly enough for only arguing for a bit, he should have walked off the plane all alone and faced the resulting inquiry while the capt called in ,"I dont know whats wrong with that wuss but I myself am totally good, and I was on the same trip as that poof, I have no idea what his problem is".

I see what youre trying to push here CT with taking responsibility for ones decisions... but this CRM issue of rank-command overide of junior concerns is too well documented. Your attitude is simply wrong and not acceptable from a crm standpoint here when u attack hp for buckling after stating his concerns.

True. A heads up about the change would have been very useful and relevant.

I understand why the company would want to keep it quiet. But why the silence from Dalpa?

This is human nature. FO's should have the exact same way to non extend as CA's do. The FAR interpretation from the FAA agrees, yet we are doing it differently for some reason. Didn't we even get that in the last TA? Or is that one of the gains that don't take effect til fall?
Yes we did and you guys need to read the freaking thing.

It is within the sole discretion of each individual pilot to decide in any given situation whether he is fit for duty and will remain on duty beyond his applicable FDP or duty period limit under Section 12 D. 2. – 4. A pilot’s decision not to remain on duty beyond such limit will be accepted without challenge by Crew Tracking.

Roadkill, you are the one who isn't getting it. What "I read" is boy who couldn't make an easy decision trying to shirk his personal responsibility. I don't know how many other ways to say it. He CAN'T be overridden in this situation. He LET himself be overridden and then came here to WHINE. It is not ALPA's failure. It isn't a system failure. The failure is his personal failure for not standing up and leaving.

I've never loved or hated ALPA. I'm kind of ambivalent about ALPA, but I love this profession. I like working with DAL professionals. I do not like whiny, entitled children who have no sense of ownership in the profession. A professional would have grabbed this situation by the balls and offered no apology for doing what was needed.

You are quoting from the new 12 D., which according to the Live Contract, does not take effect until 5:15 ADG kicks in. In the meantime, we have the old PWA duty day limits and our individual ability to stop the operation at 2:00 beyond the max.

Default RSV and OE drop

What happens when you are on reserve and they drop you for OE?

Do you just revert back to LC?

Thanks

So the more restrictive times in 117 are overruled by the contract?

you sure about that?
