Do airlines really test fly airplanes? How's that help them make any decisions on whether or not to buy it?

Note the customer pilots and what airlines they're from

LAX projected 176 B ER pilots but the forecast calls for only 145 come December. For SLC, it's 93 B ER pilots and forecast for only 76.

Does that mean ER displacements are eminent?

How much water do these reports hold? Am I simply freaking myself out for no reason?

Crew resources has mentioned in a couple of their newsletters that they would displace off the ER if they didn't get enough people bidding off of it to other categories. Unless we see some narrow body captain spots on the west coast, I don't see those ER guys going anywhere. My guess is we'll see displacements this fall sometime.

Doubt it. This last AE had some junior guys getting FO slots in Seattle. They won't even convert till the fall.
