Ultra conservatively each retirement will result in 6 initial training events in the waterfall. Imagine 3000 initial training events in 12 months. The amount of seniority list instructors. The amount of additional pilots to do the line flying. Now flash to 2022 when over 1000 pilots will retire. 6000 initials. Agreeing to pay banding will, IMO, slow our progression a full 2 years. Where we would need 200 captains in a category, with pay banding now we will only require 170. Imagine this across the system. Think of this sales job as a magician. You watch his hand while he shows you the good stuff. The other hand is on your wallet. Pay attention and get involved. The insiders can only win again if we play dead. Jerry I am also against pay banding but why all the angst? At the council 16 meeting it was said that pay banding has never come up. Is there a feeling that the company will try to get us to accept pay banding this time around? Scoop |

Looks like A330 NEO just became a reality. I hope we get some of these airplanes.

Just a heads up, I had my new roller bag with uniform, hat and dirty laundry stolen from the ATL bag room. CP says it was the third one reported last week.
I had the orange 2014 tag, and other name tags on it. CP says that in an other theft, the thieves removed all the tags and switched the contents into another bag after stealing an I pad..... |

I find it hard to believe that fellow pilots are stealing from each other. Someone else is probably sneaking in there. I guess I put us up on a pedestal. We make enough money that we don't need to steal.

Didn't they put in some cameras last time we had a wave of thefts? Hopefully the chief pilot has some video of whoever is doing this. |

Is there a feeling that the company will try to get us to accept pay banding this time around? Scoop Hoping I am wrong, but hearing it from many reliable sources. Remember your reps are the last to know. Many will whine, but the admin on full time flight pay loss that have been there for years, put these back door deals together. New RA goals, 50% reduction in training costs and 5 year freezes. No concessions necessary. Jerry |
Ever been in that room after midnight? It's ramper and custodian and a few other groups that I didn't recognize central down there. I've had the pleasure of spending a couple of nights in the black chairs on the commute home.
